Hayward launches new website

Charles Hayward, the former chief executive of the New York Racing Association and Daily Racing Form Inc., has launched an on-line web publication called Thoroughbred Racing Commentary focusing on the problems facing the racing industries in jurisdictions worldwide.

Hayward, a former publishing executive prior to entering racing as part of a group that purchased Daily Racing Form Inc. in 1998, has said that the publication will use reporters and racing insiders to write articles that recommend ways to solve problems in racing. Although based in New York, the publication has editors for Europe and Australasia.

The site can be found at thoroughbredracing.com, a dormant domain name that the publication purchased from a broker, Hayward said.

The current website includes categories for racing, breeding, sales, owners and trainers, racecourses, regulatory and wagering, technology, and aftercare. Hayward said the publication hopes to provide new articles “regularly” in each category.
