Hawthorne Harness: Sunday 9/3 Analysis

Jeremey Day|Sep 01, 2017
Hawthorne Logo

Best Bet (17 - 30 / $84.20): IDEALS OATH (7th)

Spot Play: SKYWAYBRENLINSFIB (5th)

Race 1

(3) FOURBOLTMANE will look to drop and pop against much softer. (1) CITIZEN KANE might be one of the only threats to the top choice with some racing luck. (2) FOX VALLEY HOSS set a lifetime mark against weaker last start but is probably best used underneath.

Race 2

(2) NOVEMBER RAIN three-year-old filly is starting to figure it all out. (5) OH JOSEPHINE has burned cash in five straight starts; command a price. (6) PRINCESS OSHIE picks up a huge driver change.

Race 3

(7) FRONTIER MICHELLE looks terrible on paper but finds a very weak field. The 4-year-old mare will offer a big price and was close against a better group three back. (5) BC'S OKIE DOKIE has yet to win on the year but has shown signs of recent improvement. (2) POWERFUL INTENSE has been competitive at this level in two straight.

Race 4

(4) NEW QUEEN had some sneaky late trot last week against the division champ. (5) FOX VALLEY UNLEASH two-year-old filly can threaten at a price if she minds her manners. (8) STARLIT SENDITBACK is probably the horse to beat but starts from the far outside and will offer low value.

Race 5

(6) SKYWAYBRENLINSFIB lightly raced pacer has lots of room to improve against a suspect bunch. (2) FOX VALLEY HIPSTER looks to be in line for a nice ground-saving trip up close. (5) MY DECISION should be better second start over the track for a capable barn.

Race 6

In a wide open and evenly matched race, (6) LAKESIDE MS QUEEN owns multiple wins at this level and picks back up a top driver. (5) ARE YOU TERRY was sharp last week blowing past the field first over; big chance. (4) BUCKLEGIRL BOBETTE put in a huge effort last week off a long layoff. The pacing mare does her best racing from off the pace.

Race 7

(7) IDEALS OATH nine-year-old looked home free last week before just coming up short. The mare looks to have more ability than most of the field. (9) DANDY'S DUDUDIDUDU has been competitive against better on the year. (3) DRAGON JEWEL should be in line for a much easier trip this week.

Race 8

(1) IN YOUR EYE gets the best post picking up a huge driver change. (4) BIGGER N BETTER needs a fast pace to close into. (5) ALWAYS A FIJI lightly raced three-year-old has a really nice pedigree.

Race 9

(5) DUNE ON TIME mare gets sent out for a hot barn against a suspect bunch. (1) DO YOU DARE always offers low value and lacks stamina late; use caution. (6) JEWELS HALL had a ton of late pace last week after shaking loose.
