Jeremey Day|Sep 14, 2018
Hawthorne Logo

Best Bet (14 - 33 / $61.60): BIG LOU (7th)

Spot Play: MAPLE GROVE KATNIS (2nd)

Race 6 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 1

(3) NEED TO FOCUS was flying late last week against similar. (6) HEGEMON appears to be going in the right direction; threat. (1) MOJOS ENCORE two-year-old filly needed the start last week and is a major player if she minds her manners.

Race 2

(6) MAPLE GROVE KATNIS had some sneaky late pace last out against a much better bunch. (4) SUNBURST GLIDE has hit the board in three straight at this level. (1) LOUS SILVER STAR filly has an excellent win record and draws the best starting post.

Race 3

(2) FRANKSNATIVEWESTRN looks like the layoff in early summer really helped the 2-year-old mature. The pacer will try and make it two straight wins. (1) ALWAYS A CLASS ACT draws the best post picking up the top driver. (6) SPORTS DRAMA owns a win at this level three back.

Race 4

In a weak and inconsistent field, (5) LONELY TO LONG adds first-time Lasix and shows a good burst of speed. (3) PRETTY IRIS filly was tremendous last week swooping the field from dead last. (4) DUNE DAME morning line favorite picks up a significant driver change.

Race 5

(3) BANKER VOLO classy stallion should be in line for a great trip up close. (4) ALL ABOUT COWBOYS just missed at a big price two weeks in a row. (5) PINE DREAM has put in three straight big efforts including a wire to wire win at this level last race.

Race 6

In a wide open and evenly matched race, (6) SHOOTING COOL shows good closing ability with a good setup. (3) PRINCESS OSHIE is probably the fastest horse in the field but gets sent out for a low percentage pilot. (2) ISLAND CAMPAIGN was the drivers choice of three.

Race 7

(2) BIG LOU made a break last race but had been sharp in starts prior. (6) ILLINIMIGHT appears to have turned a corner late in the season. The 3-year-old has won two of three and looks like a new trotter racing on the front end. (8) MAJESTIC CAPRICE will look to make it ten wins in eighteen starts on the season.

Race 8

(7) AMONG THE ELITE three-year-old filly finds a soft field full of question marks. (6) BE MY LUCKY LADY will offer a huge price and was a game winner at this level three back. (5) RED HOT PACKERETTE should be in line for a nice trip on the lead or in the pocket.

Race 9

(9) IDEALS OATH well bred pacing mare is very fast when right; fires early. (2) STAR OF OUR SHOW takes a significant drop in class against weaker. (1) NOVEMBER RAIN draws the best post in a field full of question marks. The pacer has consistently burned cash against weaker on the year; use caution.
