Best Bet (1 - 2 / $2.40): BELLE OF THE BEACH (7th)
Spot Play: FOX VALLEY CHARM (5th)
Race 1
(5) DALI DELIGHT lays over the field on paper; short price. (1) LAKESIDE MS QUEEN morning line favorite will need much more to make it two straight wins. (2) REAR VIEW filly needed the start over the track last week and should be in line for a nice ground saving trip up close.
Race 2
(4) SIS'S ELLIE MAE filly was sharp last week drawing off easily. (3) MUSCLE IMAGE trotter looks to have some ability and was excellent in the qualifiers. (5) I WISH I COULD well bred trotter just held on against weaker last start; command a price.
Race 3
(5) NORTHERN B B is just now back in racing shape and faces a very weak field. (7) REAL SHEILA came up empty last week but was sharp the two starts prior. (1) BLISSFUL PANSY mare makes her second start back with the best post. The 4-year-old could offer value underneath.
Race 4
(8) TRIXIE'S JETHRO three-year-old will look to make it two straight to start the year. (9) LINDY'S POSSESSED will need a good setup to run down the early leaders; fires late. (7) FOX VALLEY SHOUT was bet down to the favorite last out against similar; threat.
Race 5
(4) FOX VALLEY CHARM could offer the best price of the contenders. The pacing mare has lots of room to improve second start back. (6) SEEYOUATTHEFINISH definitely needed the start last week; threat. (7) OK HEAVENLY was sharp last start getting a tough first over win against this same bunch.
Race 6
(7) ROCK HOLLYWOOD veteran trotter faces much weaker and looks to offer the best price of the contenders. (10) FINEWINEANDCAVIAR drew off down in class last week. The 6-year-old will have a much tougher time from the far outside. (4) MACIE RAE former Illinois champion makes her second start back off a long layoff.
Race 7
(5) BELLE OF THE BEACH well bred filly might have just figured it all out in the qualifier. (7) SAGEBRUSH SUE has some upside making her 3-year-old debut. (8) GRAN SAN drew off against a suspect bunch last out. The pacing mare has room to improve second start back.
Race 8
(4) TOPVILLE AVATAR made the most money in the field last year by far. The 4-year-old needed his last start and looks to have the kinks worked out. (10) BIG EXPENSE has a good winning percentage at this track; fires early. (2) M T UR POCKETS is capable of beating this bunch with a smooth trip.
Race 9
(6) LK'S NANCY LEE will look to drop and pop against much weaker third start back off a long layoff. (2) PRETTY IMAGE well bred filly had a sterling sophomore debut. (1) MY KIND OF DANCE was flat last start but does have room to improve with the best post.
Race 10
(3) PHOTO PHRED looks terrible on paper but does own some ability. The 3-year-old will offer a monster price and can hit the ticket if he minds his manners. (8) CASSISANDFIFTH gets a positive driver change second start back. (7) PJ BOY is the horse to beat but will be a very short price; use caution.
Race 11
(7) BUCKLEGIRL BOBETTE was a little short first start back. The 4-year-old mare should cruise with a trouble-free trip. (9) MORNINGSTAR SAM might be the only threat to the favorite with a fast pace to close into. (1) BOOGIE ON DOWN is just now back in racing shape and benefits from the best post.
