Hawthorne Harness: Saturday 1/6 Analysis

Best Bet: SKIM THE TOP (6th)
Spot Play: HEREHECOMESAROCKIN (4th)
Race 1
(1) MYSTICAL NECTAR pacing mare has been off a month but shows two really nice efforts against better. (5) BOOGIE ON DOWN came back off the layoff sharp earning a nice win. The 4-year-old should be ready for an improved effort second start back. (6) ROCKIN RACER lightly-raced mare might have the most upside in the field but appears to need a start.
Race 2
(6) GETOUTTHEDIAMONDS mare looks to be the fittest of the field with two recent starts which were both wins. (5) O YOU SHADY THING is the only other horse in the race that also has some recent starts; threat. (3) CHANTILLY LACE probably needs a start but did get in a qualifier that will help.
Race 3
(1) NARCIAN JEWEL has been facing much tougher out east. The 7-year-old picks up the top driver with the best post. (3) ROCKIN PRALINE didn't finish the year on a strong note, however the 4-year-old has flashed good ability. (5) URBAN MARE looks to be in line for a ground-saving trip; use underneath.
Race 4
(5) HERECOMESAROCKIN shows a good burst of speed off the gate but will need to save something late. (3) SCIROCCO ALEX four-year-old is one of few in the race that doesn't need a start; threat. (6) DADDY LET ME DRIVE has hit the board in six straight since the barn change.
Race 5
In a weak field full of question marks, (4) ASHLEES NANNAH will offer a fair price getting sent out for a capable barn off the layoff. (7) FOX VALLEY SASHA mare is the only horse in the field with a recent start under her belt. (5) FOX VALLEY CHARLIZ rarely wins and looks to offer low value off the long layoff.
Race 6
(1) SKIM THE TOP is more than capable of beating this bunch with a trouble-free trip. (4) MOONWRITER picks up a huge driver change against slightly weaker. (5) ROYALE ROSE owns a big burst of speed when timed right.
Race 7
(9) ABC WINNER should find this spot much more to his liking even with the tough starting post. (8) MUSCALE five-year-old stallion needs to mind his manners but can hit the ticket at a big price. (5) FOX VALLEY SHOUT should be in a great spot to pick up the pieces late especially with a fast fractions to close into.
Race 8
In a very tough race to handicap, (6) JEWELS HALL gets sent out for a trainer known for having them ready when they hit the track. (2) WIMPLE'S DIMPLE closed nicely from a very tough spot last out. (3) I'M DONE TALKING just missed last out; threat.
Race 9
(4) SELECTASANDSHOOTER is one of few horses in the field that looks race ready. (5) SLEAZY JOE has been competitive against better on the year. (10) DAN P has just been racing evenly but faces much weaker.
Race 10
(3) CHAR N MARG former Illinois champion looks primed to have a good winter meet. (1) IMAJEAN ROCKS gets the best starting post in an inconsistent field full of question marks. (2) NORMA REI takes a significant drop in class against weaker.
