Hawksmoor moves into Delacour's barn

Hawksmoor, beaten just a head and a nose when third in her North American debut last Saturday in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, has been turned over to Arnaud Delacour at the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland by her owner, the Lael Stables of Roy and Gretchen Jackson.

Delacour said a decision probably will be made in the next couple of weeks on whether to send Hawksmoor to the Grade 1 Matriarch on Dec. 4 at Del Mar for a final start of the year or just “give her a break and come back in the spring.”

Hawksmoor, an Irish-bred 3-year-old, was based in England with trainer Hugo Palmer before moving overseas.

Meanwhile, Delacour said he will consider the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes on Nov. 25 at Churchill Downs for Armoire, the winner of a turf allowance at Keeneland when staying unbeaten in two career starts. “She’ll have to take me there,” he said.
