Sunland Park/Coady Photography Alfredo Juarez Jr. guides Bright Town to a three-length score in the El Diario on Saturday.

Haveyougoneaway brings a string of bullet workouts into the $50,000 First Lady Handicap at Ruidoso Downs on Monday. She is the 122-pound highweight in the six-furlong race for fillies and mares, which also drew Bright Town, a stakes winner this winter at Sunland Park, and the well-bred Teardrop.

The First Lady, which drew a field of six, launches the stakes program at the Ruidoso meet that opened Friday.

First Lady Handicap (Race 8)

Key contenders

Haveyougoneaway (Last 3 Beyers: 86-78-78)

◗ She has fired three straight bullet works in preparation for the First Lady, all at Lone Star Park. She went five-eighths in 59.20 seconds May 1, the same distance in 58.40 on May 8, and a half-mile in 46.80 in her final prep May 16.

◗ Haveyougoneaway will be making her first start since Feb. 21, when she finished third in the $100,000 Spring Fever at Oaklawn. She also ran third in the track’s $100,000 American Beauty on Jan. 24.

◗ The Spring Fever has produced two next-out stakes winners. Spring Included, the winner, returned to take the $100,000 Carousel at Oaklawn, with a Beyer Speed Figure of 92. Lasting Bubbles, fourth in the Spring Fever, came back to win the $50,000 Wayne Hanks Memorial at Lone Star Park, with a Beyer of 88.

◗ Haveyougoneaway is seeking her first stakes win in the First Lady. She is owned by Champion Racing Stable and trained by Allen Milligan.

◗ Jareth Loveberry, the regular rider on Haveyougoneaway, has the mount from post 5. The pair could get a tracking trip behind Bright Town, who breaks from the rail; Teardrop, who is in post 2; and Bench Beauty.

Teardrop (Last 3 Beyers: 74-77-75)

◗ Her dam, Wild Vision, produced Pyro, who earned more than $1.6 million, and War Echo, a Grade 3 winner of more than $280,000. Teardrop is a daughter of Tapit who races for her breeder, Winchell Throoughbreds, and is trained by Steve Asmussen.

◗ She enters off a third-place finish in the $53,000 Wilma Mankiller at Will Rogers Downs in April. The winner of the race, More Than Even, was scheduled to run back Monday at Will Rogers in the $55,000 Classic Distaff.

◗ Casey Lambert has the mount on Teardrop.

◗ A memorial service for Jacky Martin, a seven-time winner of the All American Futurity, will be held Monday morning at Ruidoso. He died April 4 at the age of 59.
