HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Have Faith continued trainer Dallas Stewart’s strong meet at Oaklawn Park, where she closed up the rail to win the $135,000 Southern Hospitality overnight stakes by three-quarters of a length over Carolyncaroline. It was another neck back in third to Candy Talking.

The Southern Hospitality was for 3-year-old fillies over six furlongs. It was run on a sloppy, sealed track. Earlier on the card, the second and third races were canceled due to inclement weather moving through the area.

Have Faith ($5.20) trailed early as Sina jumped out to the lead and set fractions of 22.15 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 46.05 for the half. Have Faith advanced on the turn and rallied up the inside to cover the distance in 1:10.67.

“She’s a filly that goes out there and always runs hard,” winning rider Cristian Torres said in an interview conducted by Oaklawn analyst Nancy Holthus.

Have Faith is a daughter of Vekoma who races for Holy Cow Stables. She is now 2 for 7 for earnings of $176,823.
