Hastings: It's Dancewithavixen - again

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Dancewithavixen won her seventh stakes race of the year, by a neck in the Grade 3, $172,225 Ballerina Breeders' Cup.

With her regular rider Felipe Valdez aboard, Dancewithavixen broke sharply from her outside post and stalked Grace for You through quick fractions of 22.30 and 46.04 seconds. She took the lead after six furlongs in 1:12.10, then after being headed by Shelby Madison at the top of the stretch, fought off a late charge by Secondary School. Shelby Madison finished third, a neck in front of B.C. Oaks winner Raylene. Final time for the 1 1/8 miles over a sloppy track was 1:52.58.
