Harvest Moon possible for Zenyatta Stakes

Harvest Moon won her stakes debut in the Grade 3 Torrey Pines Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Del Mar on Aug. 22 and may race against the leading older fillies and mares in California later this month.
Trainer Simon Callaghan said recently that Harvest Moon is under consideration for the Grade 2 Zenyatta Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on Sept. 25. The winner receives a fees-paid berth to the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Keeneland on Nov. 7.
“If we’re going to run her again this year, it will be in that, if her next couple of works go okay,” Callaghan said. “If not, we’ll give her a little time and bring her back for the 4-year-old stakes” in 2021.
Owned by Alice Bamford and Michael Tabor, Harvest Moon has won 3 of 4 starts and has earned $120,720. Her career began in June with a runner-up finish in an allowance race with an $80,000 claiming option on turf. Harvest Moon is unbeaten in three starts on dirt.
