Bryan Truitt Jr.'s Slipinsidewayz ($6.60, Victor Kirby) was a 1:57 4/5 winner in the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) final for 2-year-old pacing fillies Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
Trained by Bryan Truitt, the Badlands Hanover filly was a one length winner on the front-end for her second straight victory. Jett Propelled was second, with Nova's Baby Girl third.
In the $50,000 Kathleen Cain, Brenda Teague's Tae ($3, Tony Morgan) prevailed in 1:52 2/5, equaling her lifetime mark at age eight. The I'm Gorgeous mare set all the fractions and maintained a comfortable lead at the wire over Southwind Mina and Shield Maiden. It was her fifth win of the year for her owner/trainer.
The race is named in honor of Cain, who worked as a receptionist at Harrington for nearly 50 years. She was in the winner's circle for the blanket presentation, joined by friends and family.
