Harrington: None better than None Bettor A in Bobby Quillen Memorial

None Bettor A, sent off at 13-1 in Monday evening's $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial for open pacers at Harrington Raceway, was able to get up in the lane after working out a pocket trip. The final time was 1:49 4/5.
Starting from post four, None Bettor A left quickly for driver Mark MacDonald, and then MacDonald would give way to sit in the two-hole behind 4-5 favorite Tattoo Artist (Tim Tetrick) before the 26 4/5 opening quarter. Tattoo Artist would continue on the engine to a half of 55 2/5, with Bronx Seelster (Montrell Teague) moving out first-over from fourth before that station.
Bronx Seelster could make no headway on the rim after he vacated the cones, which left Tattoo Artist still on a clear lead at the 1:22 2/5 three-quarters and on to the last turn. MacDonald would attack two-wide with None Bettor A late on the bend, though, which left a path on the inside for Jack's Legend N (Pat Berry), who had been following along in the three-hole.
It was a stirring stretch battle with Jack's Legend N firing through the passing lane, Tattoo Artist digging in between foes, and None Bettor A surging on the far outside, and at the wire it would be None Bettor A who got the decision by a neck. Tattoo Artist had to settle for second, and Jack's Legend N took third. Bronx Seelster came in fourth, and he was followed by Southwind Ozzi (Marcus Miller).

"I liked my chances. Tattoo Artist is a really good horse, and luckily I was inside of him," said MacDonald. "He kicked real well coming for home.
"I was hoping to get the trip I did. It just worked out, and he's a really nice, little horse. He's a fun horse to drive."
Andrew Harris trains None Bettor A, an 8-year-old Bettor's Delight gelding, for owners Joe P Racing LLC. and Oldford Racing LLC. This was his 34th career win, and he has now earned $711,207. He returned $28.80 to win.
