Harrington: Foiled Again farewell tour on tap for Monday
Harness racing’s richest horse of all-time, Foiled Again, will make a stop on his farewell tour at Harrington Raceway Monday, October 22.
The venerable pacer is in his last year of racing at age 14, and will compete in the third race on the program at approximately 6:30 p.m. He will then be available for a meet and greet in the west grandstand parking lot where fans can take photos and interact with the legendary pacer. Local television host Heather Vitale, host of weekly harness racing show “Post Time,” was instrumental in coordinating the meet and greet for fans.
Foiled Again has an impressive history at Harrington as the only horse to win the track’s signature race, the Bobby Quillen Memorial, three times.
The winner of more than $7.6 million in his career has an impressive resume that includes 104 lifetime wins and being voted the aged pacer of the year in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He is the first pacer to have three straight million-dollar earnings seasons and has won such prestigious races as the Breeders Crown, TVG Championship, Ben Franklin, Canadian Pacing Derby, Graduate, American National, Molson Pace, Indiana Pacing Derby (twice), George Morton Levy Memorial (twice), Battle of Lake Erie (three times), among many others.
Owned by Burke Racing, the Weaver Bruscemi partnership and JJK Stables, his connections have been very generous with the pacer’s schedule in having him compete at a variety of tracks in his final year of racing.
Fans are encouraged to watch the legendary pacer make his final appearance at Harrington Raceway.
