Harrington: DSBF elims wrap up for 2-year-old trotters

Robert Allison Jr.'s Perfect Twenty ($3.60, Victor Kirby) completed a sweep of his Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) 2-year-old trot eliminations Wednesday at Harrington Raceway as the fastest of four elimination winners in 2:00 1/5.
Perfect Twenty squared off with fellow elimination winner Kodack Black and was a three length winner via a first-over brush that saw him drawing away at the wire. It was the same tactic that worked in his round one elimination win. Kodack Black was second, with Hespookshescores third. Perfect Twenty is a Yankee Royalty gelding trained by Cliff Green.
The first DSBF filly division went to Dana Weaver's Gold Rate ($14.60, Victor Kirby), who sprung a mild upset over Starlight Lounge and Miss Daburg. The CR Commando filly was making just her second career start for trainer Syl King Jr. Kirby won three of the first four races.
Another son of Yankee Royalty prevailed in the third DSBF division of the night, and the second for colts and geldings, as Providence West's Royal Mistake ($49.60, Kim Vincent) used a late surge after a second-over trip to nail favorite I Got It Made at the wire. Reddy Fox was third. Trained by his driver, it was the first career win for Royal Mistake.

The final filly division saw Jeff Clark's She Is Strong ($2.20, Art Stafford Jr.) prevail in dominant wire-to-wire fashion over Lady Brass and Royal Flirt in 2:02 4/5. The Anders Bluestone filly won both of her elimination events in impressive fashion for her trainer/driver.
The $100,000 DSBF trotting finals will take place Wednesday, October 12.
In the $20,000 Open trot, Andrew Glassmeyer's Embrace The Grind ($6.40, Montrell Teague) cruised to an open length win over Swan In Motion and I Da Princess in 1:55 1/5. Trained by his owner, it was the fifth win of the season for the son of Keystone Activator.
