Donna Messick's Little Miss Peyton ($2.10, Corey Callahan) was a 1:56 4/5 winner in the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) final for 2-year-old pacing fillies at Harrington Raceway Wednesday.
The gray daughter of Papa Ray was a wire-to-wire winner over Valentina Station and Tilted Crown for trainer Les Givens. She improved to four-for-six in her young career after she sprinted away from her rivals with a 28 1/5 second last quarter.
In the overnight feature, driver Callahan also prevailed as Mike Casalino and Dylan Davis's Majorca N ($6) won her seventh race of the season, all at Harrington, over Incaseyoudidntknow and Odds On Hail Mary in the $50,000 Kathleen Cain in 1:52. The Art Major 9-year-old collared pace-setter Odds On Hail Mary on the final turn and held off a late kick from Incaseyoudidntknow for her 38th career triumph. The race honored the service of Harrington's long-time receptionist for over 40 years, who at age 96 was in the winner's circle.
