Harrah's Philadelphia: Wednesday 6/5 Analysis

By James Witherite
Race 1
2 - SHOW ME UP forced a :54.4 half in the breeze before losing ground last week — but still held second! $12.5k success noted.
3 - SOMETHINGINTHEWIND was the other half of the speed duel last week after wiring $10k types on May 22. Nap opts to stay aboard.
6 - DADDY LET ME DRIVE chased well to be second at 10-1 last week after a failed pressing bid and even cover trips. Minor option.

Race 2
7 - KEYSTONE MAXIM sustained wide bids to just miss in his last two, and he's earned 6 straight cheques. Form is improving!
4 - CAN WE DANCE was fourth or better in three of four. Midpack draw can land her close, especially with a lack of inside speed.
3 - ROCKIN THE SHADES paced a 1:52.1 mile in the Maryland final on Preakness Day to claim a speed edge over three turns. Mind value.
Race 3
3 - CATCH MY SHADOW may be winless in the last 17 months, but showed improved closing and duelling ability in his last two.
2 - SWEET COLT OF MINE rallied into a no-match second in a bottom-level event on arrival a fortnight ago. Staying power a plus.
8 - ADMIRAL circled stalled cover into second last out and upset at 31-1 at this level four back. Credible roughie keeps Dunn.
Race 4
5 - PROTEAS chased to hit the board in four of his last five. Midpack draw should enable him to be close enough with ease.
1 - CLAIRE MICHELLE hasn't raced since October, but her two Philly qualifiers indicate she's ready to roll. Pole can aid, too.
4 - ZACK'S GOT THE W qualified with hopples on May 25 and posted a :27.1 closing quarter. Second-time starter could share with cover.
Race 5
7 - TASTE OF HISTORY gains Tetrick on arrival from Pocono. Traffic trouble and early exertion have troubled him of late.
4 - DAMION DIESEL HAHN was rebuffed after his second move in the slop last week at Pocono. Nap opts on the class-dropping gelding.
1 - WESTERN BAYAMA returns to a competitive level; draws cosily.
6 - UP UP AND OUT earned minors in his last six. Value inclusion.
Race 6
2 - COLE ON THE BEACH was outmatched in Stallion splits but sustained a bid for second at this level on May 13. Can bounce.
3 - BRICKYARD VELTIC chased a free-wheeling leader last time and actually closed for a good third after a narrow miss two back.
7 - STATELY IDEAL was outpaced from mid-division last week after lifting for second at twos-on. Kinder pace and cover can aid.
Race 7
4 - CHASER HANOVER worked steadily into second behind Lyons Night Hawk in last week's PASS. Dunn's back aboard.
2 - BLACKLIGHT won a N2L event in New Jersey to open his 3-year-old campaign. Stakes winner is Tetrick's choice of three.
7 - ARTIE'S IDEAL posted strong Lexington miles as a freshman, and seems fit after qualifying twice at Pocono. Mind value off the bench.
Race 8
8 - PANAMANIAN HANOVER drops again after toiling in upper-level events. He held under pressure at this level on April 1.
5 - PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE lifted off cover to just miss on the step down to this class on May 23. Midpack draw gets him involved.
6 - BROADWAY SISSY lifted into a no-match second in a lower-level race at Pocono after toiling to stay even from astern with tougher.
Race 9
6 - HOO NIEN A gained off cover into third in his last two at this level. The others staying at this class can't say the same.
8 - NASCAR SEELSTER was too far away to threaten last out, but circled into second at 18-1 two back. Easier await; wide draw looms.
4 - ARTMAGIC passed tired foes at this level at Yonkers after a post 8 dispatch left him astern. Cut to three turns, April lines noted.
Race 10
7 - CUB FAN qualified well at Pocono on two occasions in May, and posted strong miles in freshman stakes. Class edge noted.
4 - SCIROCCO MISTYSAID beat winners at Pocono two back before chasing evenly in a Stallion Series race. Times are amply fast.
2 - BRING THE THUNDER got that elusive first win on the drop to maiden company, but he kicked away at first asking. Mild hike awaits.
Race 11
1 - JUMPING JAKE was even or better to take minors in his last two. The pole puts him right in the thick of things on the drop.
4 - BIGTOWN HERO showed speed at Rosecroft this spring and finds himself in a fairly paceless event on paper. Raw speed is ample.
7 - KOLT POWER passed tired foes to save fifth in a $10k event on debut. Expect sharper second out; minor option in exotics.
Race 12
3 - CONTROL TOWER closed into third behind I'm A Big Deal's 1:49 mile last week. I'm A Big Deal beat top-level foes since.
1 - EDDARD HANOVER drops, draws inside, and is reunited with Tetrick. He shows fast miles of late, but value will likely suffer.
5 - FATHER SARDUCCI never found a way into the race from astern last week, but closed well off cover two and four back. Steps down.
Race 13
6 - WHERE TO HANOVER didn't lack for trot against tougher a fortnight ago, but was hemmed in late. Poised to pounce.
2 - MARCH AWARENESS keeps Nap after last week's first-over grind up the far side. Post relief can yield a kinder journey.
4 - KLYDE DA GLIDE improved belatedly for minor cheques at double digits in his last three NJ tries. Can share here against easier.
Race 14
4 - BAD BOY BRAD A showed pressing and stalking ability consistently at Harrington. Further relief lifts him; Tetrick's back.
1 - CASH IS KING debuts for Surick off a respectable chasing effort from the pocket in a $20k event. Easier await; pole helps.
2 - MAYTIME TERROR was hindered by post 8 in his last, but he put together some decent third-quarter bids in previous upper claimers.
