Harrah's Philadelphia: Wednesday 6/12 Analysis

By James Witherite
Race 1
5 - MASTER OF PUPPETS just missed off a tracking trip last out, and nearly reached from the pocket two back. Slight form edge.
1 - SHOW ME UP was gathered in late last week after working to the lead and setting a strong pace. Pole keeps the 50-time winner close.
4 - ADMIRAL is Dunn's choice on this improved barrier draw. Two back, he circled into second at sixes. Excuse his other recent lines.
Race 2
7 - DONT JUDGE A BOOK just missed from an earned pocket with the addition of Lasix, and he won well at this level three back.
2 - JESSICAS BEACH BOY flattened late last out, but posted a :27.1 third quarter while gaining in the breeze. This level suits him.
1 - COSTELLO returns to action off a 1:54 qualifier after toiling in stakes company. Speed is ample; pole keeps him involved.
Race 3
1 - SOMETHINGINTHEWIND won two of his last three, from on the point and out of the pocket alike. Draw suits preferred style.
6 - CASH YOUR DREAMS debuts for Surick off the claim after pressing and chasing off cover for minors of late. Can lift.
8 - MIDNITE PASS pressed well ahead of Somethinginthewind last week, only to be beaten by his pocket foe. The effort impressed.
Race 4
4 - NO PULSE RICHIE nearly lasted on the lead last week after chasing to protect a no-match second. He's better when in play.
8 - KEYSTONE MAGNETO debuts off two Pocono qualifiers, both of which were amply fast for this group. Value should be healthy enough.
6 - CAN WE DANCE was fourth or better in four of his last five, all from tracking and stalking trips. Logical minor option once again.
Race 5
2 - LETSCHASETHEDREAMN returns to his last winning level and draws cosily. Last out, he passed tired foes. Dunn's choice.
5 - DECISION DAY keeps Callahan after showing good late pace in his last two tries. Clear sailing makes him a definite player.
4 - HICKORY ALOHA was softened on the lead on arrival, but battled.
1 - CAPITAL BUILDER was a two-move winner two back. Pole can aid.
Race 6
6 - L DEES BELLA was a good second on debut, and chased to hit the board in 5 of 8 career tries. Expect sharper second out.
3 - CLAIRE MICHELLE likewise chased to maintain second on debut, but she cedes a bit of a class edge. Speed is there, but will value be?
4 - PROTEAS only missed the board once in his last six, and that was due to a mid-race break. Can reasonably stalk and share.
Race 7
3 - STAND BY ME N made amends well a fortnight ago, landing close and pressing into second. Harrington wins were solid, too.
2 - CHASER HANOVER dug in after pushed to a :27.2 third quarter last week, but was upended by Blacklight. Stakes efforts encourage.
5 - VOYAGER tracked, chased, and led for three straight third-place efforts after breaking maiden on debut. Be wary of value.
Race 8
3 - P L ICABOD hit the ticket in his last three races, all from earned pockets. Similar await on arrival from Pocono; plenty to like.
4 - SHARED INTEREST A just missed at this level two back, and since parried pressure for an odds-on score. He's in form, but mind value.
7 - GOLD MEDAL SWAN is David's choice over two others following a solid win in New Jersey. Demand value noting the step up and wide draw.
Race 9
3 - BRASSY HANOVER chased off cover behind both Captain Crunch and Southwind Ozzi in PASS company. Far easier await.
6 - SEAFARER cedes a bit of a class edge to Brassy Hanover, but his 2019 miles have no doubt impressed! He's both fast and versatile.
2 - LIVE LIKE A BOSS pressed to a narrow win at this level two back, but was since hampered by the drawmaster. Back inside; gains Dunn.
Race 10
7 - HOME'N DRY won his first start back after gait troubles at Dover in March. Switch to three turns increases raw speed.
2 - MAJESTIC MYSTIC improved late to hit the ticket in two starts since shipping north. Cosy draw in part offsets class hike.
6 - CHARLES VII is one of two to step down, but struggled mightily since returning to action. Mind value on this fourth straight drop.
Race 11
2 - ACTON HANOVER struggled in Stallion Series races, but was even two back and gained in the middle half since.
5 - DALI DEO stalked and lunged late on arrival, just missing in a similar race. That 1:54.1 mile stacks up well, save for Acton Hanover.
1 - LIKE A COWBOY was shuffled to last and didn't rally most recently, but he did not become detached. Minor chance if close and clear.
Race 12
4 - SPICEBOMB is the fastest horse here, even when adjusting for recent trips over two turns. He got bottled up last out.
1 - KOLT POWER overcame a wide draw to save a no-match third at this level in his second start for these connections. Pole sharpens him.
5 - HURRICANE BEACH passed tired foes for fourth in a second-level race last week after toiling in tougher classes. Logical inclusion.
Race 13
8 - FLAMING TRIX drops in from NJ Sire Stakes events where she showed ample speed to contend in here. Corey’s choice.
6 - AFTERMEYOURFIRST only missed one cheque in his last six tries, and that came due to a rearward dispatch from the outside.
3 - CAPTAIN BLUES earned minors twice after leaving the course on debut. He's been off nearly a month, but he fits the bill for a minor.
Race 14
3 - MAGRITTE almost lasted off a strong middle move and a :27 third split last week. Similar await after Yonkers fields challenged.
7 - MOFFITT HANOVER earned minor cheques in much tougher upper-winners races as recently as last month. Value player with flow.
4 - YUPPER toiled late after chasing a hot pace last out. He kept up decently against softer fields last month; form can carry some.
