Harrah's Philadelphia: Wednesday 5/29 Analysis

By James Witherite
Race 1
3 - SHOW ME UP drops from $12.5k on debut for Way. The 12-year-old won at that level 3, 4 and 5 back. Can bounce.
2 - SIR WILL'S WISH won three of four at this level, including his last two since Mosher claimed him. Likely pacesetter.
5 - SOMETHINGINTHEWIND keeps Nap after a pillar-to-post win last week. The 41-time winner found his level; mind value.

Race 2
6 - STAND BY ME looked home free a quarter out last week, but broke after he threw a :26.4 third split. Can rebound.
5 - BEATINGTHEODDS nearly lasted on debut for Green at Yonkers a fortnight ago after success in Ontario. Versatility noted.
2 - CAPTAIN DISOMMA seeks another win at this level after he lifted for a 13-1 upset last week. Stalker-closer is warming up.
Race 3
3 - DUEL IN THE SUN was used early last out before rallying into third out of traffic. Clear sailing can help; Nap's choice.
6 - MASTER OF PUPPETS almost reached from an earned pocket last week after finishing fourth or better in 5 of 6 at $12.5k.
2 - DADDY LET ME DRIVE finished fourth in all three starts for DeFrancesco. A kinder trip than those can lift him a bit more.
Race 4
7 - ALLINDOTIME was even off cover against a bit tougher at Pocono. Success in N5L and N6L races this spring is a plus.
2 - CHRISTOPHER CRAZO laboured while boxed in a N5L event last out, but stayed generally even with those tougher fields.
1 - DEEP IMPACT couldn't get involved from astern last out, but he gains the pole and the easiest field he's seen in some time.
Race 5
4 - SIMPLY VOLO rebounded well last week, circling into third in a similar race at Yonkers. Many of his rivals today rise.
9 - WINNERESS drops from fifth-level races after pacesetting and stalking trips yielded minors. He beat similar five back.
8 - ICINGON DE CUPCAKE won a N6L in March; late trot noted.
2 - DON DREAM made good ground at this class locally 3 back.
Race 6
4 - KEYSTONE MAXIM couldn't quite reach Wordsmith, but he pressed a :28.3 third split before missing. Ramping up.
3 - BRICKYARD VELTIC cleared, yielded, and also lunged to just miss in the Wordsmith race. He's long outperformed his odds.
8 - TWISTED SWEETNESS earned minor cheques in 5 of 6 races this year at the course and class. Easier await save the above pair.
Race 7
3 - VOICE OF TRUTH posted a solid two-move Q last week after being off since September. Can win with his 'B' game.
8 - SCRUB HANOVER pulled pocket to challenge at Freehold last out, but only mustered second. Tetrick opts on, but post 8 looms.
4 - MAURICE posted a sparkling 1:51.3 Q a couple weeks ago, but failed to earn a penny in his last five starts. Mind value.
Race 8
5 - FIERY LADY was overmatched in New Jersey on debut, but still posted a 1:57.1 mile. Expect sharper coming back.
1 - BIG SAMMY Z passed a couple tired foes in each of his 2019 starts. Inside draw gets him substantially closer early.
2 - PROTEAS broke in his last, but hit the board in four of five before that. Inside draw all but ensures he'll be close early.
Race 9
4 - SENOR MACRAY A is Tetrick's choice over three others after a solid Q last week. The Aussie won 7 times last year!
2 - ALWAYS THE SUN is one of four others to step up in the field, doing so after chasing Decoy from the pocket. Likely close.
1 - MACHIATTO A passed tired foes in a tougher race at Yonkers after trouncing third-level types here. Splits the difference.
Race 10
6 - MARCH AWARENESS didn't get involved until too late last week, but didn't lack for staying power. Nap's choice.
5 - BROADWAY EXCEPTION overcame a break to save third at Freehold two back and made a three-wide bid since. Gains Dunn.
3 - ARCH CREDIT shows the fastest miles on the page, but had some gait issues earlier in the spring. Picks up Tetrick; mind value.
Race 11
1 - STATELY IDEAL rallied well at twos-on in his seasonal debut. Expect better coming back and starting at the pole.
6 - BRING THE THUNDER has the speed and class edges to be sure, but those fast closing splits in NJ will likely hurt value.
2 - SWEET LOU'S BLUE closed belatedly into Wordsmith to just miss last week after chasing from the pocket. Rounding into form.
Race 12
3 - SOLO STORY seems to do his best work from off cover, but he's shown success in pressing and tracking roles too.
6 - HOO NIEN A chased to hit the board in his last two, and options for cover abound from inside foes. A factor with flow.
2 - DRAGONOLOGY seeks back-to-back wins after circling three-wide to reach a third-level field last week. Tetrick's choice.
Race 13
2 - THELINESTARTSHERE was even in an Excelsior event after three straight wins at Harrington. Gains Nap on arrival.
6 - HEISMAN PLAYER faded after an extended first-over push at Woodbine last week, but stayed better here. Needs to be close.
5 - MOUNTAIN HIGH laboured from the pocket at Yonkers last time, but had enough to hold for third. Should be better third out.
Race 14
5 - JM JACK OF HEARTS posted fast NJ miles, but unable to get into the race until it was too late. Further relief noted.
7 - ANDWIN HANOVER will have to tackle an outside draw, but his late pace has improved considerably in recent outings.
3 - RUFO made money in six straight starts since leaving Yonkers. He figures to be prominent from the outset; mind value.
