Harrah's Philadelphia: Schadel twosome triumph in Liberty Bell
The family duo of driver Todd Schadel and his son, trainer Cody Schadel, won two of the three $30,000 Liberty Bell divisions for 2-year-old filly trotters on Sunday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Jakarta Hanover won the opener for the Schadels in 1:55 1/5. She led the way through fractions of 28, 57 2/5 and 1:26 and prevailed by three lengths over Southern Moni. Duchamp S came in third.
Todd Schadel also co-owns the Hanover Shoe Farms-bred daughter of International Moni with Jim Simpson. A $60,000 Standardbred Horse Sale buy last year, she has a record of 3-3-0 from nine starts, has earned $66,520 and paid $6.20 to win.
Loveyoubunches completed the Schadel double in the final flight. She moved out of the pocket heading to the 29 1/5 opening quarter and landed on the front-end beyond that marker. From there, she reached the half in 58 2/5 and the three-quarters in 1:27 3/5, then trotted a 29 2/5 final quarter to defeat Tequini Hanover by a length and a quarter in 1:57. Upallnight Hanover checked in third.
Todd and wife Christine Schadel share ownership of Loveyoubunches, a Fordham Road filly, with breeders Rick and Regina Beinhauer. She has six wins, a second and a third in nine appearances, has put away $137,211 and returned $3.60 to win.

The lone non-Schadel victor was Ihaveadream De Vie in the second section. Driver George Napolitano Jr. had her third through opening-half panels of 28 and 57 4/5, then put her in motion first-up en route to the 1:27 1/5 three-quarters. She took command on the final bend and then drew clear to tally by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:56 4/5, with She Shaq and Green Zone in second and third, respectively.
Chris Lakata trains Ihaveadream De Vie, by Andover Hall, for Joie De Vie Stable LLC. Bred by Joie De Vie Farm LLC., Ihaveadream De Vie made her third stop in the winner's circle in her tenth effort, sent her bankroll to $59,199 and paid $4.80 to win.
