Harrah's Philadelphia: Reign On Me, Mighty Macko headline Liberty Bell victors

Reign On Me (pace) and Mighty Macko (trot) were the fastest winners in Liberty Bell events for 2-year-old fillies on Friday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia.

Driven by George Napolitano Jr., Reign On Me raced in the first $30,000 pacing division, and she would post fractions of 27 2/5, 57, and 1:24 1/5 on her way to a 1:52 4/5 victory. The victorious Well Said filly is trained by Nifty Norman for owner Jennifer Dalton Stb LLC. Reign On Me won for the third time in her career, and she has now put away $43,546. She returned $2.60 to win.

Mighty Macko (Jim Marohn Jr.) competed in the second $40,500 trot test, and after being put in the pocket past the 28 second opening quarter, she would rally back into the lead in the lane en route to a 1:55 lifetime-best clocking. Mighty Macko, a daughter of Explosive Matter, is trained by Neal Ehrhart for owners Virginia Ehrhart, Leta Deatrick, and Jacqueline Dobson. Mighty Macko has a pair of victories and a second-place finish from three efforts, and she now shows earnings of $29,750. She paid $5.40 to win.

Also winning on the pacing side were Somebeachsomewhere filly Sarpa Hanover (Victor Kirby, 1:53) for co-owner/trainer Brett Bittle and co-owners Charles Keller III, Charles Keller IV, and E. Daniel Bittle and Mean Leen (Marohn Jr., 1:54 4/5), a daughter of Well Said, for trainer Erv Miller and co-owners Paymaq Racing, George Golemes, and D.R. Van Witzenburg.

Fish Is Fish (Pat Berry, 1:57 2/5), by Andover Hall, was the other trotting victor, taking her $40,900 flight for trainer Dirk Simpson and owner Ed Teefey.
