Harrah's Philadelphia: Pick Four Spotlight for Wednesday 4/17

Brett Sturman|Apr 16, 2013

$1 play: 7 / 1-7 / 4-8 / 7 = $4

Race 7

JOYEUX DREAM won easily a couple weeks ago in what was her first start since January, and the second finisher from that same race came back to win next out. This guy was one of the early contenders in the winter Super Bowl series at the Meadowlands that has since produced a number of decent ones; looks much the best. CHOCOLATTA DE VIE was no match for the top choice in her most recent but she'll be in a better striking position today. MCATTEE had a nice recovery following an early break last out.

Race 8

RIVIERA cruised here in 1:51 3/5 upon arrival from Northville last out; just a shade under her lifetime mark which was also set at this track last year. That most recent field was pretty decent and this might not be as big a step up as it looks on paper; should be tighter too. ARODASI was never in position to threaten last out but two back beat a good one at Pocono. Drops and lands the rail; things to like. RYDER BLUE CHIP makes her second start back. FLEETING FLIRT N has won the last two times she's raced here.

Race 9

PINEY'S SCHOONER broke in her debut three weeks ago when she was supported at odds-on, but still made up a ton of ground to just miss in 2:01. Filly by Broadway Hall simply appears faster than these. MARKUP HANOVER has been overmatched in all three of his seasonal starts to date; flashed some potential last year at two. MM'S BRILLIANT ONE was too far back in her debut at Rosecroft with Wagner; improvement today isn't out of the question.

Race 10

DUEL CHEEKS comes off a tough uncovered try against an uncatchable front end winner in her most recent. Now makes her second start here up from Dover and looms a major threat. EASTWOOD AURORA was bet down to even money last out on the drop to this level and folded on the lead; very tough call. LIZZIE MCARDLE can keep up against these from an improved post. MACH LADY should be heard from at some point.
