Harrah's Philadelphia: Pick Four Spotlight for Sunday 4/7

Brett Sturman|Apr 05, 2013

$20,000 Guaranteed Pool ($3,927 carryover)

$1 play: 1-2-3-7 / 1-2 / 2-8 / 3-5 $32

Race 7

ARID N makes his third start back from the layoff and had little chance last out when he raced from behind in that 1:52 mile at Pocono. Possible opportunity for a Burke horse to offer a price here. ISLAND SHARK brushed to the lead past the half last out and was able to hold the rest at bay in 1:54. Second finisher from that race came back to race well Thursday; chance to repeat. CHEYENNE UMBERTO drops from the Rags To Riches series but he wasn't exactly sharp before then either; tough call. Driver change coming on THE REAL DION; upset chance.

Race 8

CINDERELLA GUY faced superior foes two back and then showed speed in his most recent to just miss against Hello Hot Shot by a little over a length. This is a winnable spot for the classy 9-year-old; Rucker seeks first win of meet. ACHILLIES BLUE CHIP invades from Canada and goes into the Burke barn; could be any kind. VERY UPSET RICHIE closed nicely in his most recent against the heavily backed Western Churchill; can rally again.

Race 9

CASSA'S IMAGE was talented enough to make it to the races early in her 2-year-old season last year even though she never made a pari-mutuel start. She's gotten towed along to relatively quick times in both her Meadowlands starts this year and on paper simply appears fastest. CRAZED IN LOVE sported a nice looking rally in his qualifier; will go faster today. NITROGLIDE HANOVER is having a tough time coming through on that first win; I think he was beaten last out regardless of the break.

Race 10

MAN CAN HE SKOOT has now lost two straight at odds-on but both horses that beat him were well deserved winners; no digrace either time. One more chance. ASTOR has really developed of late and his debut for O'Sullivan last out was super. Chased home Scotty Mach two back in that sub 1:50 mile; can likely go with the top choice. JOHN'S POLYVIEW is going to be a very nice 3-year-old this season; only question is if he's ready to go at first asking. LINWOOD PLAYER is better when coming from off it; might work out a trip from here.
