Harrah's Philadelphia: Once In A Lifetime, Khaosan Road reign in Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell Stakes at Harrah's Philadelphia continued on Thursday afternoon with Once In A Lifetime and Khaosan Road taking $35,000 tests for sophomore trotting males.
Jokic (Andy McCarthy) led through fractions of 27 1/5, 57 1/5 and 1:25 in the first grouping, but Once In A Lifetime (Tim Tetrick) had pulled out of fourth past the half and made his way into second racing to three-quarters. Once In A Lifetime forged forward on the final bend and wrestled the top spot away from Jokic, and he held sway to the wire while being driven out, tallying by three-quarters of a length in 1:53 3/5. Momoni De Vie (David Miller) was second from the pocket and Jokic checked in third.
A Father Patrick colt, Once In A Lifetime is trained by Jim Campbell for owner Sad Frog Farms. This was his tenth career victory, he has now earned $441,532 and he paid $3.40 to win.

In the other section Khaosan Road (Andy Miller) yielded to Herodotus (D. Miller) nearing the 27 1/5 opening quarter and continued to track him through middle-half stations of 56 and 1:24. Herodotus and Khaosan Road got separation on the others before the last turn, so Andy Miller swung Khaosan Road to the outside, and after a brief battle, Khaosan Road trotted by Herodotus in mid-stretch, then kicked on to a one length victory in 1:52 3/5. Herodotus had to settle for second and Pedal On Metal (Tetrick) got up for third.
Khaosan Road, a gelding by International Moni, is trained by Ake Svanstedt for owners Knutsson Trotting Inc. and Little E LLC. Khaosan Road has a summary of 5-2-4 from 16 outings, has put away $295,456 and returned $3.80 to win.
