Louies Girl N and driver Jason Bartlett rebounded from a third-place finish in the McIntyre final at Yonkers with a resounding performance, capturing Sunday's $100,000 Betsy Ross at Harrah’s Philadelphia in a career-best 1:48 4/5 clocking. The Per Engblom-trained import won for the sixth time in eight starts this year as the even-money favorite, winning by open lengths over No Foolin April, with Miki And Minnie third in her 2026 debut. Getting away from the pole position, Louies Girl N was relaxed as No Foolin April blasted to the front for Tim Tetrick with Tarapasta moving into second. Coastal Babe N made a belated leave from post eight and settled into a tuck on the opening bend. Past the 26 2/5 opening quarter Bartlett moved Louies Girl N to the lead and was able to reach the half in a sensible 55 4/5 fraction. McIntyre champion Tarapasta was hoping for a repeat in the Ross, and driver Matt Kakaley took her to the outside before the half for an uncovered grind, towing Miki And Minnie second-over. Bartlett didn’t wait to find out whether Tarapasta was up to the challenge, as he let his mare out a notch on the backstretch and quickly opened ground with a 26 4/5 thirdquarter allowing him separation from the others. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Under a continued drive Louies Girl N responded and opened ground on the 27-1 No Foolin April, who held on to the place spot ahead of Miki And Minnie. Coastal Babe N held the fourth spot with Tick A Loch A rounding out the top five. Owned by Peaceful Acres Farms, Louies Girl N upped her 2026 bankroll to $229K with the victory and returned $4.00 as the public choice. "I didn't know her legs could go that fast as little as she is," Bartlett said after the impressive clocking. "But (1):48 4/5 is a really good mile."
