Driver David Miller reached the 13,000 win plateau on Friday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia when he guided 27-1 shot Mr Censi to victory in the 12th race on the card. Miller, 55, a native of Ohio who currently competes regularly on the East Coast and on the Grand Circuit, entered the day with 12,999 wins. He was able to pick up one win at Philly on Thursday with Blazin Grace and was second three times. Miller sits fifth on the all-time win list for drivers in North America behind Dave Palone, who is still going strong at 19,244 and counting. To move up a spot to fourth, Miller would need to top Cat Manzi’s (retired 2014) 14,812 total. For his career, which began in 1977 and includes just shy of 70,000 starts, Miller has driven horses to more than $244 million in purse earnings. Miller is second behind John Campbell ($299,892,141) on the earnings leaderboard. Miller was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Ohio Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2010. He was named Driver of the Year by the United States Harness Writers Association in 2003, 2015 and 2016.
