Harrah's Philadelphia: Angelpedia soars in Liberty Bell
Angelpedia led throughout and won Thursday afternoon's single $56,250 Liberty Bell division for 3-year-old filly trotters at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Starting from post four, Angelpedia hustled to the top for driver Joe Bongiorno and forced fellow leaver Cando Volo (George Napolitano Jr.) to duck into the pocket prior to the 27 1/5 opening quarter. Angelpedia continued on the engine to a 57 4/5 half and a 1:25 4/5 three-quarters, with favored Tipsy Moni (Tim Tetrick) going first-up out of third past the half.
Tipsy Moni advanced into second on the rim prior to three-quarters, but Angelpedia put her away on the final bend, and then also easily dealt with a passing lane bid by Cando Volo in the stretch to tally by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:53 4/5. Cando Volo wound up second, and Tipsy Moni out-lasted Lindys Irishcream (Simon Allard) to collect third.
