Race 1 - Claiming $12,500
2 - MORE DRAGON improved from astern to hit the board in his last six, including three $15k events since arriving here. Post and class relief can lift him further, and Tetrick takes over. 3 - HIGHVIEW CONALL N worked into the pocket up the far side in his last and chased to maintain position to the end. Three back, he was a two-move winner over $15k company. Forgive his Pocono outing on Aug. 1; a fast early pace stung him. 7 - ARTACHE HANOVER has only been worse than fourth once in the last two months. Generally, he's fared well at this level, but does his best when on or near the lead and not first-over. Wide draw presents a new challenge.
Race 2 - Claiming $10,000
1 - CHARGER BLUE CHIP lifted off cover to win at this level three back, and was just upended after exerting early to secure the lead last week. This $10k group shapes up as softer on the whole. 3 - OWN IT stayed even at the pegs on debut for Moffitt last week after floating forward and getting shuffled. Post relief can improve finishing ability. 8 - SOUTHERN ALLIE won powerfully at this tag three back, but was gathered in from pacesetting and pressing efforts since. Wide draw troubles a bit; back class encourages.
Race 3 - F&M Non-Winners 1 Race
3 - MAJOR NIGHT OUT has hit the board in all three of his starts to date, including out of post 8 at Yonkers two weeks ago. Post relief, a drop back to maidens, and the switch to three turns all can make her staying power count for more. 2 - GINGER TREE LIZ drops in from stakes company - where she's been a consistent enough minor player - and gains Dunn. Raw speed edge noted; mind value. 6 - MISS TANGO was a no-match second to Roll With Amy at this level last week after missing her Aug. 19 assignment due to illness. Stalking and pressing ability both noted.
Race 4 - F&M Claiming $12,500
3 - THE LADY SHERIFF held sway on the point last week, but was all-out to do so after scooting clear up the far side. Nap's choice of three is in a good place to control the terms again. 2 - CHECK MACH improved out of midfield for third in a $15k event in her last. Attribute her struggles in conditioned races to wide draws and rearward trips. The cosy draw should put her in striking range more easily. 8 - I'M DONE TALKING blasted from the outside for the pocket last week before just missing The Lady Sheriff. Mid-level success earlier in the summer is a definite plus.
Race 5 - F&M Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Races or $70,000
6 - ABIGAIL DAWN dug deep to protect victory at Pocono half a level below this one after lifting mildly from worse than midfield in a tougher assignment two back. She has proven able to sustain pressing bids as well, as demonstrated six back. Splits the difference; Dunn's back on. 1 - TANGO DANCER has the benefit of a cosy draw following successful enough pressing and stalking runs against just easier. She won at this level five back, note. 8 - A CRAFTY LADY rides a two-race win streak into this race, but has two new obstacles to overcome: a second straight class hike and the eight-hole. Nap chooses on over two others. 7 - SLICK ARTIST A can boost Hi-5 value with a similar chasing effort as in her last, and 2 - JUSLIKEAQUEEN gains Tetrick on the heftiest class hike in the field.
Race 6 - F&M Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts
8 - ZOE ELLASEN was a one-paced third from the pocket two weeks ago. While she has to negotiate the eight-hole, she drops in class once again and Tetrick opts on over two others. 5 - ART LECTURE makes a similar step down after being pinned in yet holding even last week. Before that, she pressed well to force a quickening pace before levelling off. This is the easiest group she's seen in some time. 2 - DISTURBED HANOVER almost held sway on the drop to third-level company last week, but was just collared by a late threat. Mind value on this third drop in four starts.
Race 7 - Non-Winners 1 Race
2 - YOU MAKE IT EASY hit the board in three of her four tries to date, with her only mishap coming due to a break at Vernon. She turned in a 1:57 4/5 mile at Tioga last week and chased to take second in the stretch. Easier await on arrival. 7 - BASTION only hit the board twice in seven tries to date, and both were at this level. She's got the raw speed edge and Napolitano, but value may suffer as such. 8 - ALDEBARAN REVANI struggled in recent stakes, but was even in both her Meadows lines. Easier await on arrival; the draw is likely her biggest obstacle.
Race 8 - F&M Non-Winners $20,500 Last 5 Starts, 9 Races or $90,000
Today's featured distaff pace is truly wide open, with five mares looking for back-to-back wins and the other three dropping in from respectable outings against tougher at Pocono on Aug. 23. 4 - MACHNHOPE gets my top call on account of her good third-place finish from an earned pocket last week and an overall class edge. Five and seven back, she not only beat tougher at Yonkers but used different tactics on each occasion. 2 - I'M VERY SPECIAL won well two back and chased from astern in the same Pocono race Machnhope exists. Post relief can help this Yonkers series winner land closer to the pace with ease once again. 1 - APPLE BOTTOM JEANS pressed to victory last out, and figures to be the likely catalyst for pressure again here. Back class may hurt value, though. Demand a fair price.
Race 9 - F&M Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts
5 - SCUOLA HANOVER pressed and scooted away from just kinder foes at odds-on in her last after belated gains from astern proved insufficient in tougher outings. The big difference today: Dexter Dunn takes over the lines. 7 - APPLE HANOVER gains Tetrick after chasing the tough Queen Lostris N for a near miss last out. She's hit the board in four of six; this level seems to be the top of her current form level. 1 - VALUABLE ART held sway at this level two back before chasing evenly for a minor with tougher at Harrington since. She's likewise working back into better form.
Race 10 - Non-Winners 1 Race
2 - WARRAWEE VICTOR hasn't been worse than fourth in the last two months, having earned a steady dose of minors via close stalking trips at this level. This time, he gains Dunn and a cosy inside draw. 1 - HOLY MOMENT lifted late into runner-up finishes in two tries at this course and class. The one time he missed the board, he was parked without cover into a torturous pace. Unlikely that happens from the pole. 4 - ODDS ON OCALA was eased with broken equipment last time, but showed ample raw speed to contend at this level in his Pocono outings in June. Reunited with Tetrick; minor option under the right circumstances.
Race 11 - F&M Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts
2 - SWEET CAMILLE bottoms out after futile efforts in Stallion Series company. This drop is as significant as you'll see here. Improved raw speed is a plus. 6 - ABUELITA HANOVER made strong late gains to just miss at 26-1 at Harrington in her last. Further relief can aid; switch to three turns improves staying power all the more. 4 - CAVIART SCARLETT angled out to chase in the final furlong last week, and closed best of all in pursuit of The Lady Sheriff. Easier await this credible value player off a respectable outing.
Race 12 - F&M Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000
2 - SWEET ACE was an even fourth in two of three Stallion Series tries this season. Easier await today; cosy draw lands her close. 1 - WINGDING HANOVER pressed steadily to a twos-on win at this level last week, but loses Brennan. She can land a little closer early on from the pole, but mind value as such. 3 - FIRESIDE cleared, yielded, and chased to protect second over a tiring pacesetter. She rose to win at the level three back, so she's clearly capable under the right circumstances.
Race 13 - F&M Non-Winners 1 Race
6 - PARTY QUEEN is starting to put it all together, as is evident in her Saratoga NYSS lines. Speed and versatility are both developing, and far easier await on arrival. 7 - IDEAL CHIP invades from the lower New York circuit, where she has hit the board in three of five outings this season. Form encourages a fair bit more than some others, as does overall staying ability. 3 - OK LETS ROCKNROLL is the likely pacesetter in this field, even after she was gathered in late in her last two tries. New shooters threaten, but she has enough to hold for a minor.
Race 14 - F&M Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts
3 - HEAVENS CHALLENGE only missed tougher by 1-1/4 lengths in her last after hitting the board in three straight before that by way of a variety of strategies. Gains Nap on arrival. 4 - BRUNHILDA failed to fire into a blistering pace last out, but pressed and chased to hit the board against tougher both three and four back. Relief can aid. 5 - NORMAN'S MADELINE gains Tetrick after pressing to a narrow Yonkers win. She kept a first-over bid alive locally four back to just miss tougher, note. Can share; midpack draw yields tactical options.
