Race 1 - Claiming $12,500
1 - LOOKINFORADVENTURE boasts the strongest form in the field, having hit the board in seen straight starts and his last five at this tag. Extreme post relief on arrival from Pocono makes his closing ability count for a lot more. Oh! He can set or stalk the pace from up close, too. 4 - MYIDEALSON N wasn't lacking for pace after landing forward from post 8 and getting caught in traffic last time. Easier task awaits this one who has hit the board in nearly half of his seasonal outings. 7 - NEEDLESS TO SAY is a credible value player in the opener in his third start with Lasix. Two back, he lifted off cover to just nab $10k foes at Pocono. After that, he used a :26 4/5 third quarter to achieve the lead before being just reeled in. There's ability there, to be sure.
Race 2 - Claiming $10,000
3 - NEAT held sway narrowly in his second try for $10k - and that was after working clear from post 8. Now, he draws more favourably and Tetrick opts on. 2 - SOUTHERN ALLIE can also benefit from post relief after trying to bottom out his foes two weeks ago. Likely pacesetter has recent success and back class galore to draw from. 5 - CATCH MY SHADOW returns to action after two months away, but seemed sharp in his qualifier last week. He more than held his own with tougher claimers earlier in the summer; mind value.
Race 3 - Non-Winners 1 Race
7 - GOOGOO ON STAGE is a promising second-time starter who made steady headway around rivals to just miss in his career debut. Tetrick's back with the Wallin rookie; week-over-week improvement to this point has been very encouraging. 2 - ROSALIE SWAN recovered from a mistake at Scioto in her last to save sixth after hitting the exacta in four straight before that. Gait issues do pop up, but her raw speed has been ample for this group and versatility is a plus. Debuts for Lachance. 3 - DOMINIC DE VIE qualified smoothly last Tuesday after repeated breaks sidelined him. Minor option with a smooth journey.
Race 4 - F&M Claiming $12,500
3 - GATORS BEN WINNING pushed clear of stout pressure to win in her first start back for a tag last week. Slight bump awaits; Tetrick opts on amid rising form. 1 - ENGLISH ROSE N sustained a long wide grind to win at evens in a similar event last out. Conditioned wins earlier in the summer came via pacesetting and pressing trips alike. 2 - HOW ABOUT MURPH was caught in traffic in a similar Pocono race in her last, but fared well enough in past tries locally. Forgive two back on account of the wide draw.
Race 5 - F&M Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts
I feel pretty strongly about 1 - ANNIE HILL as a banker in this Hi-5, especially given the efforts she turned in against tougher over the past month. Just last week, she pressed hard to force a :27 2/5 third quarter and sustained that pressure in defeat to the tough Its Mesmerise N. Before that, she chased well for minors with tougher on two immediately previous occasions. Now, she drops in class for the second time in three starts. 5 - MAGIC FORCES moves laterally on arrival from Pocono after enduring a brutal uncovered journey yet still holding third. She wired similar under pressure at Yonkers just three back. 8 - QUEEN LOSTRIS N drops to her last winning level, and she has the outside leaving ability to overcome this post. 7 - SCUOLA HANOVER can improve with better cover on the drop, and 2 - TALL POPPY N hit the board in her last two tries at the course and class, both while forwardly placed.
Race 6 - F&M Non-Winners $20,000 Last 5 Starts, 9 Races or $90,000
6 - MACHNHOPE looks to repeat in today's feature after delivering a decisive 1:50 1/5 score last week. After controlling a stout pace, she opened up off the home turn and won with plenty in reserve. On the upswing. 5 - BETTOR JOY N is just as credible an option given her stakes appearances and a near miss out of post 9 at Pocono in her last. The big question mark: How will she fare after 5-1/2 weeks off? 1 - SHEZALLAPPLES A rose to this level a couple weeks ago and chased well at 26-1 from an earned pocket. She's at the least got the staying power to boost value in deeper exotics in this group.
Race 7 F&M Non-Winners 5 Races or $50,000
6 - NEW YEAR gapped a bit on the turn after being shuffled in defeat to Party Girl Hill, but still turned in a 1:50 mile in futile pursuit of her undefeated stablemate. Far easier await this stakes-tested filly. 2 - SHE'S NUN BETTOR N seeks back-to-back wins at this level after rating and throwing down a :55 3/5 back half last week. She's hit the board in all six of her assignments this season, and from a variety of trips. 5 - TAKE ABIT OF LIFE improved belatedly for second at 16-1 behind She's Nun Bettor N last week, and before that closed from deeper back for a no-match second against conditioned company at Pocono. Can chase late for a minor at healthy enough odds.
Race 8 - F&M Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Races or $70,000
The second leg of today's Pick-4 could play out any number of ways, given class movement, differing racing styles, and not much separation from top to bottom in terms of talent. 5 - ANNABELLE HANOVER has to take on older company this time, but she's enjoyed minor stakes success this season. She fits via the N7L provision after a two-move effort in the PASS consolation proved sufficient to get her home. 2 - GOLD ORCHID N advanced in the breeze in her return outing last week, and still held third after levelling off. Expect sharper from this proven mare second time out. 7 - ROYALTYWESTHO won at this level four back and kept up well from an earned pocket against just lesser in her last, and 1 - ATTENTION HANOVER has consistently shown up in the late stages of her last few in comparable levels.
Race 9 - F&M Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000
6 - MARTINIQUE BEACH drops from stakes company into this manageable spot. She stayed on well to hit the board in all four of her Stallion Series preliminaries this season, but was troubled by wide draws in her last two outings. Relief all round can lift her. 2 - WINNING WORDS hooked three wide and lifted to just miss in her last at Pocono, and before that kept up well from an earned pocket. Cosy draw keeps her close to the action yet again. 1 - PAIGE'S GIRL won on debut last week - and had to hook three-wide out of the pocket in order to do so. Lots of upside for this filly; watch closely for improvement second out.
Race 10 - F&M Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts
5 - AMANDEROSA raced more than credibly in fourth-level company last week after struggling against tougher through August. Her best results come when she's in control of the pace, and she stands to be fairly alone in that respect in this event. 1 - KOTARE YARRA N pushed three-wide into a :27 4/5 third quarter before weakening in her last, yet held her own from more conservative journeys in mid-summer. Pole can aid, as can class relief. 4 - AMERICAN EMPRESS N could end up a credible option from off the pace should the tempo prove a contested one. Three of her last four tries at the level yielded in-the-money finishes from off the front flight. She can press or stalk alike; worth including at a fair price.
Race 11 - F&M Non-Winners 1 Race
2 - MISS TANGO was a game second after working clear from post 8 last week. After facing stern backstretch pressure, she was outdone only by the fresh Paige's Girl, who hooked three-wide out of the pocket to reach. Cosier draw can give her more to work with late in the mile. 6 - KEEP WATCHING was the one who forced the pace last week, and she paced a :26 4/5 third quarter in order to stick a nose in front of Miss Tango a quarter from home. There's ability, to be sure. 5 - FLIRTY FORTY invades from the New York circuit, where she proved a minor player for much of the summer. Stalker-closer hit the board in two tries at this level just last month.
Race 12 - F&M Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts
4 - ZOE ELLASEN pressed well on the far turn last week and held second respectably. Tetrick opts to stay on; beaten favourite angle may help lift value. 8 - DOROTHY'S LEGACY was a one-paced third in a similar event last week after sustaining a mild first-over advance up the far side. Likely catalyst for pace pressure has fared decently at this level of late. 6 - MAGICAL MISTRESS debuts for Peña on arrival from Saratoga. She won from the pocket two back and sustained a wide bid to just miss four back. Bounce theory? Potential price player in deeper exotics.
Race 13 - Non-Winners 1 Race
3 - MIKIBYTHESEASIDE drops in from minor stakes after largely even efforts for minor cheques all summer. Class and speed edges noted. 5 - GET ALONG was overmatched in Stallion Series company in his last three, but began his career with three straight top-three finishes. More prominent placement should be possible given only a little bit of inside speed. 7 - GALVESTON only missed the board once all season, and has gained well in the late stages of recent outings to boost exotic value. Last week, he flew up the open stretch to just miss at 15-1. Very credible.
Race 14 - F&M Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts
2 - HEAVENLY BET pressed well into the far turn and held second after being rebuffed by January A off the home turn. Easier foes await this time around. 5 - YES DOUBLE DOWN comes in from Pocono after a sustained first-over bid in her last. She's earned minor cheques in six straight reis. 4 - LIVE ODDS rises on arrival from Tioga after stalking and chasing for third against easier. Minor option with continued improvement.
