Race 1 - F&M Non-Winners 3 Ext. PM Races or $30,000
5 - BABY YOUR THE BEST may be a copy editor's nightmare, but she stands apart in this field by virtue of her open stakes experience. She hit the board in 10 of 13 as a rookie, and she enters this far easier race off two solid qualifiers. 6 - ASHTINI was a stakes winner at 2, but was just collared after pulling pocket in her last Gaitway qualifier. While she closed in :27 2/5, she'll have to step up her game to contend here. 2 - STOWAWAY HANOVER wired her Harrington competition off the shelf last week, and she figures to be the likely early speed in the race. She cedes a pretty big class edge, though.
Race 2 - Non-Winners 1 Ext. PM Race
3 - DIAMONDBEACH edged away to win his June 16 qualifier after chasing admirably from the pocket two weeks before. He fared OK in an abbreviated rookie season; similar await. 7 - JK LUCKY CHARMS is a stakes-placed colt who just missed in a :26 4/5 last quarter at Magical Acres. He's ramped up his late pace and has clearly matured since his rookie year. Mind value. 6 - ENVIRONS HANOVER chased OK for second at 14-1 in his seasonal debut against similar. He should be fit enough to compete if his mild bid on June 1 is any indication.
Race 3 - F&M Non-Winners 5 Ext. PM Races or $50,000
1 - AFFLUENT SEELSTER gets class and post relief on arrival from the Big M, where she was simply outmatched. She won her two series starts at Yonkers in March, and this draw suits her preferred racing style far better. Expect a more aggressive effort. 3 - MCCOOLEN started to warm back up in March after traffic trouble yielded even outings at best in February. Similar await off the shelf. 5 - BETSEA missed her last scheduled assignment due to illness, and as such has been off nearly four months. She closed boldly at odds-on in her debut for Green after success at Woodbine. While capable, way too many variables abound. Mind value.
Race 4 - F&M Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts
3 - SEA PRINCESS drops a level after toiling in the outer tier amid a quickening pace last out. Her March 4 line was more encouraging, given late gains into a no-match second at 16-1. This step down could be just the key. 8 - LADY DRIVER was worn down in her Pocono qualifier after being subjected to sustained pressure, but it could have been enough to get her tight for this outing. Some success with tougher fields at Dover this winter noted; wide draw can boost value. 1 - PETAL TO THE METAL stalked and surged in her Magical Acres qualifier, and fared OK with similar at Freehold in January. Kind draw lands her close with ease.
Race 5 - F&M Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts
2 - IN THE NIGHT gets a pass from her June 16 race, noting traffic trouble on the far turn. The 13-time winner showed ample pressing and closing ability this winter at Dover, both at this level and tougher. Plenty to like. 8 - PASS LINE BLUECHIP was game in defeat at Harrington last week after having the benefit of the pole and kind early splits. Dover lines from February and March prove outside leaving ability, and similar await. 4 - SLICK ARTIST drops a level after struggling from astern in two Big M tries this month. Closer early position can lift her. 3 - JEWEL LEHIGH A and 1 - GLENFERRIE BRONTE N are my honourable mentions, the former looking to regain pressing and stalking form, and the latter benefitting from significant post relief on arrival from Ohio.
Race 6 - F&M Non-Winners 3 Ext. PM Races or $30,000
4 - COURTING MARIE isn't lacking for late pace at all, and she's one of three here with significant stakes experience as a rookie. Her most recent qualifier indicates she's absolutely raring to go. Fit and capable. 3 - COWGIRL LILLY rode the pocket to a qualifying win, and while she went three seconds slower than Courting Marie, she also sat behind middle splits that were just as slow before storming home. Stakes races proved too tough for her last summer, though. 2 - SWEET TALKER exits the Courting Marie qualifier and kept pace well in her own right, but had a much kinder trip in that outing. Her maiden win last November came over this course, and her June lines indicate that she's warming up. Can share.
Race 7 - F&M Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts
3 - FIREBBY A dropped to this level in her last start before the forced layoff, and she was a good fit for the class after having legitimate excuses one level higher. Can contend if she brings the same. 1 - GHOSTTOTHEPOST won powerfully at Rosecroft two back and simply got swallowed up in a vicious speed duel her last out. Kinder circumstances will help her immensely. 2 - GALARINA debuts for Simons off a respectably qualifier at the Big M. Late gains off cover encourage; a similar outing easily makes her a player here.
Race 8 - F&M Non-Winners 1 Ext. PM Race
5 - DANCES WITH earned a slight speed edge over three turns with her recent qualifiers. She hit the board in 6 of 13 last season, and showed good chasing ability out of midfield on multiple occasions. 6 - MORE THAN KUTE has a start under her belt since thee forced layoff, and she boasts a wicked late kick. She's probably the strongest filly in the field, but underlay potential is a significant likelihood. 1 - PRIMROSE chased a bit better than evenly in her June 15 qualifier and benefits from the pole in her 3-year-old debut. Improving closing kick encourages.
Race 9 - F&M Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Ext. PM Races or $70,000
Four contenders in today's feature fit by the secondary provision in the condition, most notably six-time winner 2 - JK AMERICAN BEAUTY, who made a solid account of herself in a two-move effort at The Meadowlands earlier in the month. Matching :26 2/5 closing quarters in her two lines since the forced layoff indicate the best fitness in the bunch, and she just missed the much tougher Caviart Ally in her last start before being shut down. 7 - MERGA HANOVER danced the big dances in her rookie season and won six of 11. She went a big first six furlongs in her last qualifier and has a healthy class edge, but she's forced to take on older foes for the first time. 8 - TANGO DANCER N succeeded in holding off JK American Beauty at 15-1 last time out, but is saddled with the outside draw this time. Can she outlast a number of rising foes here?
Race 10 - Non-Winners 1 Ext. PM Race
4 - BEAUTIFUL MRS A failed to hit the board in five tries as a rookie, but her spring qualifiers demonstrate significant maturity from those early struggles. Improved staying power is clearly noted. 3 - GRACEFUL LADY had some staying success as a 2-year-old, and demonstrated similar late trot in her second Magical Acres qualifier. Lexington lines may drive her price down some, though. 6 - WILL YOU DANCE didn't amount to much in two tries last year, but she debuts for Daley after a couple of nondescript qualifiers. Variables abound; worth inclusion in deeper exotics at the right price.
Race 11 - F&M Non-Winners 5 Ext. PM Races or $50,000
6 - CASH ROLL makes her second start as a 3-year-old after a respectable chasing effort up I-95 12 days ago. Minor player on the New York circuit last summer can build easily off a solid 1:52 4/5 mile. 7 - RED RIVER JANE simply had too much work to do from astern in that same race, but she only missed Cash Roll by a half length. She ramped up for Burke pretty quickly upon arriving in his barn in February. 1 - THE PARTY'S ROCKIN opens her 3-year-old campaign off a flat qualifier, but she fared quite well in minor stakes at 2. Pole can help her stay close with ease for new connections.
Race 12 - F&M Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts
4 - IDEAL IN CASH improved belatedly off excess cover one level above this one in her last start before shutting down. Post and class relief can both lift her. 1 - DOROTHY'S LEGACY never got involved in her June 1 qualifier, but the mile under her harness can surely help. Trip woes brought on her undoing on March 6. 6 - ALKIPPE was no match for tougher last fall, and now she bottoms out. Mild late gains into a quickening pace in her June 13 qualifier encourage enough for minor inclusion.
Race 13 - Starter Allowance $10,000
2 - EXTREME MACHINE N has been off since March, but proved himself at the $10k level on March 2. Forgive his most recent outing - he was torched to clear from post 7 and had every excuse to fade on the final turn. Can bounce with best. 1 - WE THINK ALIKE hasn't hit the board in the last six months, but demonstrated improved closing ability in his isolated March start. The pole can help him make better use of refreshed staying power. 6 - BOOGIE NIGHTS debuts for Mosher after even and non-threatening lines in Ohio against just tougher. Potential roughie for exotics with closer positioning.
Race 14 - F&M Non-Winners 3 Ext. PM Races or $30,000
7 - TENTHOUSAND ANGELS was amply fast in Meadowlands qualifiers - she appeared flat on paper after having to chase stout fractions. She's the fastest of the three with a line this month. 4 - SWEET VIOLETS outperformed her odds at Dover this winter, as is evident by her pressing and closing efforts at double digits. Forgive her last on account of severe traffic trouble. A big threat at a big price with clear sailing. 6 - WINDFALL PROFITS weakened badly in her first outing since September, but her maiden win was a going-away effort over this course in September. Expect better second out.
