He returns south off a strong odds-on win, and he's proven brushing and duelling ability alike. Nap's choice of three. 1 - MYIDEALSON N can improve on strong outings by way of a kind inside draw. In his last two at the level, he made strong late inroads, but was troubled by traffic and early exertion in those Pocono outings. Solid mid-price offering. 5 - IYQ YQR was not in doubt at all at the $12.5k level, but he rises on debut for Faurot after a dominant twos-on score. Variables abound; mind value as such. Race 2 - Claiming $12,500 6 - DARK POOL seeks a third straight win after pressing two back and holding sway on an earned point since. This field shapes up as nearly identical to his last two, at least as far as major players go. 3 - GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE flattened in the breeze last week after pressing a :28 3/5 third quarter, but chased better from ground-saving trips two and three back. The veteran's been a factor at the level, to be sure. 5 - INNER PEACE cleared, yielded, and gave stout chase to just miss Dark Pool last week, and he held his ground at odds-on three back before Dark Pool's arrival. Expect him to be prominent from the outset again. Race 3 - Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts 1 - SIR JOHN F kicked clear powerfully on the rise to this level two weeks ago, and he brings the best form of any into this race. He fared respectably against similar four back, and Nap opts to stay on. 3 - DYNAMIC EDGE also rises off a win, having virtually wired easier at Pocono after setting stout middle fractions. Give credit to his pressing and chasing efforts with tougher two and three back. 8 - CARRICK didn't threaten from astern at M1 in his last, but his third-level win here three weeks ago thoroughly impressed. Wide draw is his biggest obstacle in a field full of horses on the rise. Race 4 - 2YO Fillies, Non-Winners 2 Races 7 - SOUTHWIND MINA stayed on well for third in 1:54 3/5 on debut. That solid outing gives her a raw speed edge in this group and a great springboard to strike second out. 1 - GABBY'S GIRL didn't lack late in her three starts to date, but couldn't threaten from rearward trips and wide draws. Pole can land her lots closer. 6 - KEYSTONE DELIGHT was fifth in Stallion Series company on debut, and in touch from astern on the drop to face older maidens. This task should be slightly easier yet; can share. Race 5 - Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Races or $70,000 4 - TWO AM returns to a proven level after being caught astern in pursuit of tough trotters such as Pat Matters and Marion Marauder in his last two. Buter's back aboard the 28-time winner who enjoyed ample success in his younger years. 3 - KJ CHARLIE invades from Maryland after solid wins against some of the best trotters at Ocean. Tetrick opts on; amount of upside remains to be seen. 7 - KINDA LUCKY LINDY has been no worse than fourth in his last four starts, including three tries at this very level. Ability to sustain progress while wide of rivals is encouraging, especially at healthy odds. 5 - BROADWAY ATHENA and 2 - CAJOLE HANOVER earn honourable mentions, the former by way of her late inroads of late in like company, and the latter by way of improved performances in back-to-back victories. Race 6 - Non-Winners 1 Race 2 - ANDELA hasn't been worse than fourth this year, and she has consistently demonstrated better than average late trot. Those performances are enough to contend in this more manageable group. 6 - WILLING HANOVER won his last qualifier, but he's been off since December. He closed well for minors late in his rookie year; he may well need this start despite that proven ability. 3 - KEYSTONE CANDACE looks to rebound after breaking a few weeks ago. Tetrick's back on; they teamed up for a 1:57 2/5 mile in Stallion Series company two back. Race 7 - Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts 6 - GOES DOWN SMOOTH lost all chance when he broke at the start last week, but he did well to catch the field and make a brief bid up the far side. He starts smoothly, he likely wins. Class relief gives him an easier chance at redemption. 1 - MOSCONI HANOVER almost lasted after brushing last out, and he had enough left late to save third out of traffic at this level the start before. Tetrick opts aboard from the pole this time. 8 - BOXING GLOVES reached from the pocket after clearing and yielding last week. While he steps up from that win, his track record of pressing and chasing bids for near misses in third-level company make him a credible roughie option. Race 8 - Winners of 5-7 Races 4 - WINNERUP gave futile chase to Gimpanzee in the Graduate final, but made a good account for himself out of mid-division at 23-1 the start before. Significant class relief awaits this fast son of Credit Winner. 2 - CROSSFIT rose to this level two starts back, and he pressed into a head-stretch lead at 15-1 before Grapple Hanover outkicked him. From deeper back last week, he didn't lack for late trot either. A kinder trip can help him bounce back at a mid-price offering. 5 - BELLA AVA won her last three, including a pocket effort at Pocono against N4L types in her last. Form and raw speed are strong, but are they strong enough to lift her over a third straight class hike? Race 9 - Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts 7 - TIGHT LINES pressed and held second behind Max against tougher last Thursday, and now looks to benefit from a third straight class drop. He held for minors against far tougher earlier this summer, note. 2 - PAPPY GO GO is Miller's choice of three in the field after his powerful three-wide push around foes and into second behind Scirocco Rob. He drops another level much as Tight Lines does. 3 - SKYWAY COBRA won at this level two back and since chased for a no-match third to Clive Bigsby in the faster fifth-level race on last Thursday's card. Capable if prominent enough early; mind value. Race 10 - Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts 6 - NEXTROUNDSONME didn't miss by more than four lengths in three tries against upper winners company, and now he plummets to second-level competition. Raw speed and staying ability are more than ample. 5 - PANAMANIAN HANOVER steps down a level after failing to threaten third-level types in his first two tries back. Slight relief can aid, but he'll need a kinder journey. 1 - WAYWARD MAN rose to this level last week and held well from the pocket for third at 11-1. Miller opts on over two others; can boost exotic value again with a similar journey. Race 11 - Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Races, or $70,000 3 - RICH AND MISERABLE steps down again after staying on with top-level trotters at Pocono a couple weeks ago and lifting clear of winners-over foes three back. Back class helps this one immensely - he won 12 of 24 last season and hit the board in eight others! 6 - FAITHFULANDTRUE beat a similar field from the pocket at Harrington three back and battled gamely in an Open field the week after. He now gains Tetrick after an excuse-laden line a fortnight ago. 8 - EYE OFA TIGER AS finished second in each of his last three from pressing and chasing trips alike. Wide draw is his biggest obstacle, but he dodges Stormy Kromer for the first time since arriving east. Race 12 - 2YO C&G, Non-Winners 2 Races 4 - FERNET ABOUT IT chased for second from an earned pocket in a Stallion Series event at The Meadows a couple weeks ago, and now he returns to overnight company after a break cost him any chance on July 9. He's got the tools, for sure. 1 - MAD MAN HILL is Tetrick's choice after a 21-length romp in his July 28 qualifier. Sub-:28 last quarters encourage, but unknowns remain. Mind value. 6 - FOREFATHER won his Meadowlands qualifier in 1:52 4/5 and was similarly speedy late in two local trials. Another promising option on debut. Race 13 - Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000 4 - KING ALPHONSO drops markedly from stakes company into this N3L assignment. As a rookie, he won a Grand Circuit event at Lexington in 1:52. Speed and class edges both can carry. 1 - DEVIOUS HANOVER never got involved in her All-Stars split, but chased well to save third at 19-1 in a local Stallion Series event before that. Pole lands her close on the drop. 7 - LORDY LORDY won at this level as a freshman in November, and he has every chance to improve in his second start of the season. Forgive that Sire Stakes line out of post 9 at Pocono, by all means. Tetrick opts on over two others. Race 14 - Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts 7 - WORTH THE MONEY AS stayed even in a second-level race a few weeks ago after missing his last due to transport issues. The 43-time winner drops into the easiest group he's seen in recent memory. 5 - SODA PUMP chased better last week and maintained third at 15-1. Midpack draw yields tactical freedom. 1 - CHARLES VII earned minors in both tries since dropping out of third-level company. Pole keeps him close with ease.
