Pick-4: 5,6,7/5,6/2,8/1,3,4 ($18)
Best Bet:
Southwind Ozzi (Race 9)
Spot Play: Decision Day (Race 5)

Race 1 - Claiming $20,000-$25,000

8 - BARBADOS pressed steadily to just miss Daamericansky last time out. Since arriving at this upper level, he has hit the exacta in three of four. Ability to sustain a long bid encourages. 1 - BEACH PRO missed last week due to sickness, but has been more or less good at this level. Forgive his Aug. 29 outing owing to the first-over pressure he applied through a fast middle half. 6 - LOUD SPLASH rose from a powerful second-level win two back to just miss from an earned pocket at this level last Sunday. He's turned a corner in recent weeks; can share with a similarly stout effort.

Race 2 - Claiming $15,000

5 - SEELEY MAN reeled off three straight wins before being upended at fives-on last week. He stays at the $15k level for Temming after what was by all accounts a respectable outing. 8 - IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N raced extremely well on arrival last week, clearing, yielding, and chasing hard up the open stretch to save second at this level after encountering traffic off the home turn. Wide draw is this mid-price player's biggest obstacle. 1 - XPERT BAYAMA hasn't raced in close to two years, but looked sharp in his qualifier last week. When he was last in action, he was overmatched in high-level conditioned races at Yonkers. Worth a shot off the Q line, especially from the pole.

Race 3 - Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts

6 - MISTER OHANZEE A fought gamely under late pressure at Harrington last out after even but non-threatening effort from astern. Best when prominent; drop can aid. 2 - MINDTRIP drops and draws inside again after being caught in traffic behind a tough Tiger Thompson last out. Expect sharper coming back. 1 - GLACIS figures to boost exotic value given the step down in class and kind draw. Solid finisher on a consistent basis just needs to be in striking range.

Race 4 - Claiming $20,000-$25,000

7 - TIME OUT I'M TIRED seeks a third straight win at the level after parrying pressure in bot his local starts for Estrada. While IC A Free Spirit also seeks back-to-back scores at the level, this one holds a clear speed edge. 2 - JOHNNY Q debuts for Taneyhill off the claim after winning three of his last four. Rises, but draws well and gains Nap. 4 - LINDYTHEFOURTEENTH raced well on debut for Erzene two weeks ago after dominating $12.5k types at Pocono. Reunited with Sears; can press or set the pace alike.

Race 5 - Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts

7 - DECISION DAY just missed in two tries at this level in the NYC metro area. He arrives amid pretty good form with comparable foes and strong enough raw speed. 2 - ROCK THE TOWN never had a chance to get into either of his last two races, but he won well at this course and class four back despite traffic trouble. This scenario is far more appealing. 1 - IMSTAYNALIVE rallied boldly from astern to just miss similar at Yonkers a couple weeks ago. Closing ability and a kind draw give Lachance lots of tactical options. 6 - SKIP TO MY LOU and 8 - PEPPER GUY are worth Hi-5 consideration too owing to the strength of their recent efforts and current trajectory.

Race 6 - Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts

8 - CLASSIC drops again after a solid chasing effort at Ocean in his last. In terms of raw speed, that 1:54 1/5 mile translates to a lot more here. 6 - DEALMAKER cleared, yielded, and held third after chasing last out. Improvement noted; more manageable foes await. 2 - SPEEDLING drops in from $12.5k company and can benefit from a cosy draw in a largely paceless event. Gains Nap.

Race 7 - Non-Winners 5 Races or $50,000

5 - LYONS SKIPPER was a minor stakes player this summer, and rallied well to chase the tough Manticore in last week's PASS consolation. Far easier await in this spot. 7 - NICHOLAS BEACH burned up the racetrack in his two starts for Bongiorno so far, winning by a combined 14-1/4 lengths. We haven't seen the bottom of this 4-year-old yet; mind value on the step up. 6 - JAHAN HANOVER drew off in similarly dominant fashion to post his first win of 2020 two weeks ago. Another one rising amid very good form.

Race 8 - Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 Starts, 7 Races or $70,000

5 - ROCK THE DEVIL lifted belatedly for third at this level at M1 last out, and before that demonstrated success from first-over grinds against tougher. Plenty to like. 6 - LIFEONTHEBEACH A was shuffled back pretty well on the far turn last week yet still worked free to save fourth. Late pace once free is a plus; can fare better with clearer sailing. 1 - GENTLEMANJIM II IE rallied well to win two back, and since chased for a good second at this level on arrival from Pocono. Pole keeps him close again.

Race 9 - Non-Winners $20,000 Last 5 Starts, 9 Races or $90,000

2 - SOUTHWIND OZZI beat winners-over competition here on Aug. 16, and he sustained a first-over attack to upset at 12-1. Wide draw left him astern at Pocono last out; far easier await in this spot. The one to beat. 8 - JACK'S LEGEND N was fourth or better in four top-level races since returning to action off a 5-month spell. Versatile 13-time winner can see his class carry him out of the wide draw. 1 - ALLUNEEDISFAITH N chased well to save second behind San Domino at this level two back, but since was too far back at M1 to threaten the likes of Highalator. Pole keeps him close; clear sailing is a must.

Race 10 - Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts

3 - DADDYOFEMALL was shuffled severely in his last, yet managed to save fifth in the stretch. He chased evenly twice before that. Gains Tetrick. 1 - OFFICIAL DELIGHT gets a pass for his last due to interference and for the start before owing to his role in a taxing early pace. Pole can aid. 4 - LYONS AMUSEMENTS made good late inroads at big odds two and three back. Can bounce and lift exotic value if Todd McCarthy can avoid the breeze.

Race 11 - Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000

4 - SO MANY ROADS made a ton of late ground in the Stallion Series final after getting away last of nine. Far easier await in this return outing; closing ability was ample for significant shares in July and August. 1 - LYONS FRIENDS chased respectably from close stalking spots in his last two at Pocono. A third straight pole keeps him prominent. 3 - TECHTOPIA HANOVER held sway to break maiden three back, was caught in traffic two back, and lifted well from the pocket at 18-1 since. At his best when able to directly stalk the pace.

Race 12 - Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts

3 - SOMEWHERE IN L A is a prime bet-back candidate after blasting from post 8 last week, battling stoutly on the far turn, and finishing a game second despite all the aforementioned exertion. Class and post relief both help, and Tim opts on over two others. 5 - REDBANK BLAZE A chased well to hit the super in four of his last six against tougher company, by way of overland journeys on multiple occasions. Solid stalker and stayer is likely to yield good value. 8 - MIKE'S Z TAM was shuffled badly on the far turn at this level last week, but rallied back through the open stretch to save third.

Race 13 - Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts

5 - WARRAWEE TOTAL hit the board in two tries at this level, from pacesetting and closing trips alike. Versatility is a plus; easier do await. 4 - CHEYENNE REIJANE likewise just missed in his last two. Gains Nap; mind value. 2 - MELANIE'S TEDY tired late after pushing forward from the eight-hole in his last. Two back, he chased well to save a no-match second from traffic. Relief should help.

Race 14 - Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts

4 - MAJOR DECEPTION closed hard from astern to just miss last out. He shouldn't have as much work to do in this race, and those with form upswings are rising in class. 2 - GINGER TREE MARTY rode cover to just miss last week. He's got some fast miles in chasing efforts for minors with tougher, but be mindful of value. 1 - ANNIHILATION circled three-wide to just also just miss in the same race the above pair exits. Key race angle? Good value option.
