Race 1 - Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts
3 - IDEAL ROCKY made good late inroads off cover in a second-level race last week after turning in a solid pressing effort for a narrow miss in $15k company. Far easier await today. 4 - BOOGIE NIGHTS gave way in upper stretch after an extended middle move to gain control. Mild improvement in recent weeks noted; Tim stays. 8 - AMERICAN SONIC makes his 2020 debut after two local qualifiers. Nap takes the lines on the three-time winner who enjoyed minor success in conditioned claimers at Woodbine last fall.
Race 2 - Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts
4 - MR PROFETA is my narrow call in this medium-area event. His last three performances show considerable late speed. Mixed styles of early tactics are present by many in this contest. This level has been some of the best work seen from this horse in recent times. 5 - APEX SEELSTER gets a better post today and had been racing well one level up last month locally. Useful in the spot. Price drifter potential. Appealing to readily share and can win. 6 - CAPTAIN NASH struggled from post nine last time. Before this, he’d been excellent at the level. Another who can win with the right trip. Good chance he’ll be on the speed.
Race 3 - Non-Winners 1 Race
5 - PACK UP AND GO exits Stallion Series company after failed overland bids in two such tries. Before that, he hit the board in three straight maiden and N2L outings at Pocono. The drop can serve him well. 2 - FAKE OUT qualified smoothly on two occasions after gait issues troubled him in NYSS events. Inside draw can keep him close with ease. 1 - LOU'S SWEETREVENGE gave way under sustained pressure locally last week after exerting to gain the lead. He's hit the board in all five overnight tries this year. Mind value.
Race 4 - Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts
1 - DONT JUDGE A BOOK won with strength last week in straight claiming. Tries second-level company today where he’d struggled two starts back after attempting to bid briefly after the halfway point. Better trip today a must. Last week indicated enough improvement to consider strongly today. Stays with Napolitano. 6 - DRINKA BEER also steps in from the claimers. Better miles this summer in conditioned contests versus claiming events overall at multiple courses. Among the most versatile of the race lineup. Useful for any ticket. 3 - BEVANS CULLEN N closed mildly by passing the tired in the last. Today is the second start after three weeks’ rest in August. Best results may come from mild pressure and late engagement of the early speed.
Race 5 - Non-Winners $7,000 Last 5 Starts
3 – ATABOY HANOVER improved sizeably after dropping two levels about one month prior to now. Well-connected and in a great level for the skill set. Slim call in a contest with several distinct ways to key the Hi-5. May be the speed but will more likely stalk it. 7 – BOY MEETS GIRL K recently returned to racing after extended rest. A much better-than-looked fifth last week locally after bidding widely late; remains at the level today. 8 – RENTIER will be facing a tough post assignment today yet could win with best. Has raw speed, can rate some, and will likely need to leave for best results. 6 – WINNING AMERICAN drops a notch today after results had progressively worsened against tougher. Won convincingly at this level on July 3. 2 – FINNICK ODAIR struggled with troubled miles this summer but had a great mile locally at this level. Readily able to get involved with a good trip.
Race 6 - 2YO Fillies, Non-Winners 2 Races
5 - WET MY WHISTLE sprinted off powerfully on the far turn in her local debut, and looks to do the same at the same class. Easily the one to beat. 6 - ETRA DEE VIE nearly lasted on the lead in this class last week, but that race went a full three seconds slower. Still, her ability to withstand pressure encourages. David stays on. 1 - FAWN DE TOUCH looks to rebound from a break in her last, but she chased well to miss second by only a half length in Wet My Whistle's dominant score two weeks ago.
Race 7 - Non-Winners 1 Race
4 - WILLING HANOVER hit the board in his last four dating back to last December. Capable stalker-closer is ramping back up quite well, by all indications. 1 - ROSE RUN VINCENT invades from the Ohio fair circuit following two wins and a hard-earned second in his last three. Improved form can carry on debut for new connections. 6 - LIZZIE BORDEN makes her first start since October after a lone qualifier with hopples at Pocono. Value option in deeper exotics in a rather manageable assignment.
Race 8 - Non-Winners $10,000 Last 5 Starts
2 - SOHO WALLSTREET A rises from a game two-move win against third-level company, but his last two tries at this level were promising just the same. Two weeks ago, he lifted wide of foes to just miss Mr Censi. They meet again today. 4 - SWEET SUN DAZE won't have to overcome post 8 this time around, and as such, his late chasing ability should count for more. 3 - MR CENSI pressed and reached at 27-1 at this level two back, but was since no threat from astern. Kinder draw at this winning level can put the solid value option back within striking range.
Race 9 - Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000
1 - LAZER JET bid briefly on the turn last in his last start, gets extra week off. Has had a terrific stretch of miles at PHL this summer and remains a solid fit for this level. Hard to predict price; receives a prime post assignment. 7 - LEVATOR led all the way along and won last time out and like our top call, gets an extra week off. Capable of leaving to good result from outer post. Will likely do this today. Trends indicate he is well on the way to a productive career. 3 - ANDELA had a tough outing at Pocono in Stallion Series competition. However, she has been much better locally and tries the N3L mostly oriented to younger, newer competitors. Versatile and capable of passing, but best at being at least nearby.
Race 10 - Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 Starts
1 - ANOTHER BREATH made a bold three-wide push to the far turn last week and only missed Amador by 1-3/4 lengths after cover plenty of extra ground. Class relief and the pole can lift him the rest of the way. 5 - TONY SOPRANO tired in the breeze last out after being parked from post 8. Before that, he had enough to hold for third against tougher on two separate occasions. Midpack draw, Berry noted. 3 - PARAGLIDER chased OK for minors at big odds in recent tries at this level. Can seriously lift tri and super value with a similar effort.
Race 11 - F&M Non-Winners 1 Race
3 - SNUF ENUF HANOVER chased to save second at this level on debut last week. Expect sharper second out; lots of upside for this filly. 1 - TEMPURA HANOVER only missed one cheque in five starts to date, and her even Stallion Series outings encourage. Tim's choice. 7 - MARILYN'S JO just missed from the pocket in her career debut at Freehold last week. She faces tougher here and has to negotiate a wide draw, but she's got lots of room to grow.
Race 12 - 2YO Non-Winners 2 Races
3 - WORLD BANK sustained a sweeping backstretch brush and held off Ghetto Boy to break maiden last week after chasing for minors in Stallion Series company. Now, he gets another crack at the same class. 1 - KEEPTHETAB HANOVER was just collared three back after clearing from post 7, and kept up well in a Stallion Series race from a cosy tracking trip. Pole keeps him close with ease here. 5 - TREMENDOUSLY pressed and edged clear at Pocono in his last after making late inroads on debut. Very capable; beware underlay potential.
Race 13 - Non-Winners 3 Races or $30,000
3 - BUY IN is a sensible choice for any position in your tickets in a contest that is similar in scope to the ninth race. However, this field bears a little more overall experience. While seeking his first win of 2020, he improved remarkably in the last pair and did so at high odds. 1 - WIN NOT LOU has some of the best raw speed of the group yet has had to go in some very fast miles of late. Faced my top choice last week. Both were left behind strongly by the winner (who they won’t face in this contest), so today presents much different potential. 2 - SWEET TRUTH returns to us after two months in other parts of Pennsylvania. Likes our course best, having won a Stallion Series event. Capable of a sub-1:50 mile as shown four back, and all after being impeded! Can win; seek value in exotics.
Race 14 - Non-Winners $2,500 Last 5 Starts
2 - BOMBAY HANOVER drops after chasing to protect second in a second-level race last week. Before that, he toiled in upper conditions. Nap opts to stay aboard. 7 - CHEYENNE REIJANE lifted to just miss at big odds last week, and he hasn't missed a cheque in seven straight. Further relief can aid. 3 - MR HASANI N lacked late last week after being used hard from post 8 to land close. Before that, he pressed mildly and stayed on for third at this level. Kinder draw can yield better staying power.
