Pure Cotton and Somethingbeautiful turned in winning efforts in the two $48,500 Indiana Sires Stakes events for sophomore pacing fillies that were held on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park.

After sitting in third through stations of 27 2/5, 56 3/5, and 1:24 3/5 in the first flight, driver John De Long angled Pure Cotton off the pylons in the lane, and thanks to a 26 2/5 final quarter, she would get up between rivals to win by a length in 1:51 4/5 at odds of 15-1. Like It Like That (Darrell Wright) was the runner-up, and GD Rockin Kay (Mike Oosting) finished third.

A daughter of Rockin Image, Pure Cotton is trained by Doug Rideout for owners Julie Rideout, Chris Gilbert, and Pure Cotton Stables. This was her seventh career win, she has now earned $64,440, and she returned $33.00 win.

In the other split, Kobe's Gigi (Matt Krueger) cut the opening quarter in 26 4/5, then was overtaken by a brushing Somethingbeautiful (LeWayne Miller) before the 55 2/5 half. Somethingbeautiful continued to show the way to a 1:24 3/5 three-quarters, then held sway in the sprint to the finish, prevailing by three-parts of a length in 1:51 1/5. Kobe's Gigi was the runner-up, and Skyway Brittney (Sam Widger) got third.
