Harrah's Hoosier: Ponda Adventure, Dover In Motion stay undefeated

Ponda Adventure and Dover In Motion improved their records to five-for-five and four-for-four, respectively, after winning in Indiana Sires Stakes competition for 2-year-old trotters on Wednesday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
Racing in the first $44,500 test for colts and geldings, Ponda Adventure (Trace Tetrick) took the lead past the 28 second opening quarter. He would continue on the front-end through a 56 1/5 half and a 1:26 three-quarters, then cruise home in 28 2/5 to tally by 4 3/4 lengths in 1:54 2/5, a career-best clocking. Words As Weapons S (Elliott Deaton) was second and Summit City Sonny (Joey Putnam) came in third.
A gelded son of Swan For All-Wildflower (Muscle Hill), Ponda Adventure is trained by Erv Miller for owners Engel Stable Of Il LLC., Lou Willinger, and Jerry Graham. He has earned $94,968 to go with his unblemished status, and he paid $2.40 to win as the 1-5 favorite. Ponda Adventure was bred by Pond - A - Acres and sold for $28,000 at last year's Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale.
Dover In Motion (Ricky Macomber Jr.) raced in the second $45,000 grouping for the boys. He was positioned third at the 29 second opening quarter but brushed around Swan Harbor (Brandon Bates) to take the top spot before the 58 4/5 half. Dover In Motion got separation on his rivals racing to the 1:27 2/5 three-quarters, then widened his margin in a 27 2/5 final kicker, prevailing by 7 3/4 lengths in 1:54 4/5. Yo Mister (Verlin Yoder) was next, followed by Gustavo Flight (Dale Hiteman).
A gelding from the first crop of Dover Dan, Dover In Motion, who pushed his bankroll to $88,750, is trained by Jamie Macomber for owners M & M Racing and Norbert Maza. Dover In Motion, who is out of the Yankee Glide mare Keystone Sadie, was bred by Lyle Schlabach and brought $50,000 at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. Dover In Motion was the 1-9 favorite and paid $2.10 to win.

A third $45,000 flight for males went to Swan Captain (John De Long) in 1:57 4/5. After yielding to Golden Elixir (Lewayne Miller) after the 29 second quarter, Swan Captain ended up getting shuffled back to fourth before the 59 second half went on the board. De Long remained on the cones with Swan Captain to the 1:29 3/5 three-quarters and into the stretch, then rallied up the passing lane to score by a neck over Land Of Freedom (Hiteman) in a maiden-breaking 1:57 4/5 performance. Muscle Valley (Macomber Jr.) got up for third.
Swan Captain is a Swan For All-Yoga (Muscles Yankee) gelding trained by Roger Welch for owners William De Long, W.P. De Long, and Gordon Wright. The Oakwood Farms-bred was a $100,000 Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale acquisition and has now pocketed $25,600 to go with his 1-0-1 record from three appearances. Sent off at 7-1, he paid $16.20 to win.
Two-year-old trotting fillies also faced off in a couple of Indiana Sires Stakes races. The first one went for a purse of $66,000, and it would be Simply Right (Deaton) who shot to the front in a 28 1/5 opening quarter. She then gave way to Atomic Blonde (Putnam), who would go on to reach the half in 58 4/5 and the three-quarters in 1:29. Deaton put Simply Right in a two-wide position before that three-quarter-mile marker, she would rally into the lead in mid-stretch, and then she drew clear to win by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:57. Macy (L. Miller) was the runner-up, and Luv Lorelei (Robert Taylor) checked in third.
Simply Right, a Swan For All-Stirling Debutant (Credit Winner) filly, is trained by Anette Lorentzon for owner Al Libfeld. Simply Right, an Alan Troyer and Larry Troyer-bred, fetched $87,000 at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale, and she posted her first victory in her third attempt. Now an earner of $51,650, she returned $13.60 to win after being dispatched at odds of 5-1.
The other $66,000 test for the ladies saw Callmesue (James Yoder) sit in the pocket behind R Desireable Lady (Tetrick) through panels of 28 3/5, 57 3/5, and 1:27 1/5. Callmesue tipped out coming off the last turn, surged into the lead in the stretch, and then held off a rallying M-M's Dream (Sam Widger) to get the victory by a nose in 1:55 3/5. Fleurie (Peter Wrenn), the 3-5 favorite, was the third-place finisher.
Another offspring of Dover Dan, Callmesue, whose dam is the Mr. Lavec mare Lisa's Mission, is also trained by Yoder and co-owned by him with his wife, Cheyenne. Callmesue has five wins from six trips behind the gate, has stashed away $87,750, and paid $9.60 to win as the 7-2 second choice. Callmesue, bred by Richard Frey, was purchased for $14,000 at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale.
