Harrah's Hoosier: Ponda Adventure clicks in The Madison County

Two nights of Grand Circuit events at Harrah's Hooosier Park wrapped up on Saturday with Ponda Adventure winning the $85,000 The Madison County for rookie trotting colts and geldings.
Driven by Trace Tetrick, Ponda Adventure raced in second behind Head Games (Lewayne Miller) through fractions of 28 1/5, 57 4/5, and 1:27 2/5, but had vacated the cones out of the pocket before three-quarters. In the lane, Ponda Adventure forged his way to an advantage over Head Games, and although Head Games battled on resolutely, Ponda Adventure stayed in front to win by half a length in 1:55 1/5. Swan Captain (John De Long) came in third.
Erv Miller trains Ponda Adventure, a Swan For All-Wildflower gelding, for owners Engel Stable Of IL LLC., Lou Willinger, and Jerry Graham. Ponda Adventure, who was bred by Pond-A-Acres and sold for $28,000 at last year's Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale, has seven wins and a second from eight attempts, has now earned $176,468, and paid $2.60 to win as the 1-5 favorite.
