Harrah's Hoosier Park: Updated wagering menu with lower takeout unveiled

The stage is set for Harrah's Hoosier Park as the 32nd season of live harness racing is set to get underway on Friday, March 14 at 6:15 p.m. When racing returns, the Anderson oval will greet bettors with its brand new wagering menu for the 2025 racing season.

“Hoosier Park has always been known for full fields and great racing,” said Vice President and General Manager of Racing, Gabe Prewitt. "We look forward to refreshing our wagering menu, providing fantastic offerings for the ‘Send It In Army’ and exciting wagering opportunities all season long."

Updates and additions for the 2025 wagering menu include the following:

• Early Pick 5 sequence in races 1-5 with the Late Pick 5 being moved to races 8-12 - takeout lowered to 15%.
• Pick 3 wagers throughout the card in races 2-4, 10-12 and last three races of the evening - carryovers enabled for Pick 3 sequences.
• Jackpot Pick 6 replaced with a traditional Pick 6 sequence in races 4-9 - should there be a carryover, 75% of the pool will carry over to the next Pick 6 sequence, while 25% will be paid to those with the most winners.
• Early Pick 4 sequence now in races 6-9 with the Late Pick 4 taking place in the last four races on the card - takeout lowered to 12%, the lowest in the entire sport.
• An additional Hoosier High 5 added to race 7 nightly, to go along with the traditional Hoosier High 5 in the last race of the card - there is an industry low takeout of 12% on both pools.

Beginning on Thursday, March 26, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will once again offer the $10,000 guarantee each weeknight on the Late Hoosier High 5 in the last race of the evening.

“We anticipate offering multiple guarantees on each card in the future," Prewitt continued. "Bettors can look forward to seeing nightly guarantees on not only on the Hoosier High 5, but our multi-race wagers as well."

A double-draw for the Opening Weekend cards will be held on Tuesday, March 11. Harrah’s Hoosier Park will once again be offering Free Online Programs nightly for the entirety of the 160-day meet on the Hoosier Park website.

Harrah’s Hoosier Park will operate on a two-day Friday and Saturday schedule for each of the first two weeks of the season. From there, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will add Thursdays on March 26, before beginning a four-day Wednesday-Saturday schedule in April. Standard post time nightly for the 2025 racing season will be 6:15 p.m.
