Three winners emerged from two Kentuckiana Stallion Management contests for 2-year-old fillies on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park as Voguish and Kendra dead-heated in the $222,000 trot while Sammy Jo Hanover scored in the $185,000 pace.
2-5 favorite Pink Chou Chou (Yannick Gingras) made her way around fellow Nancy Takter trainee Kendra (Dexter Dunn) to take over the lead passing the 27 2/5 quarter and then Pink Chou Chou went an easy 1:00 1/5 middle-half to get to three-quarters in just 1:27 3/5. Kendra remained in the pocket while Voguish (Todd McCarthy) tipped off the pylons from third for the drive.
Pink Chou Chou on the engine, Voguish to the outside and Kendra in the passing lane battled down to the finish line, and when they hit the wire, the camera couldn't separate Voguish and Kendra in the 1:54 3/5 mile, while Pink Chou Chou wound up third, just half a length behind those two.
Voguish, from the first crop of Gimpanzee, was bred by Maumee River Stables, Black Creek Farm, Martin Schmucker and Steve Stewart and is owned by William Pollock, Bruce Areman and trainer Andrew Harris. This was her third victory from seven outings, she put away $130,850 and she paid $8.40 to win.
By Walner, Kendra competes for Black Horse Racing and Eric Good. The Karen Carroll-bred has a record of 2-2-3 from seven starts, has earned $167,300 and she returned $4.00 to win.

In the Kentuckiana Stallion Management pace, Wunderkindbluechip (Scott Zeron) was fastest off the gate, but she would be overtaken by Sammy Jo Hanover (Tim Tetrick) at the 26 1/5 quarter-mile marker, and then Sammy Jo Hanover yielded to sit in the two-hole behind Always Ana Hanover (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) prior to the 56 3/5 half. Always Ana Hanover remained in charge through three-quarters in 1:24 1/5, but Sammy Jo Hanover rallied back past her on the outside in the lane and went on to a 2 1/2 length decision in 1:51 2/5. Wunderkindbluechip was next, followed by Always Ana Hanover.
Scott Di Domenico is the trainer of Sammy Jo Hanover, a Captaintreacherous filly owned by Oompa's Farm Inc. and Joseph Barbera. She made her second trip to the winner's circle in her eighth try, she sent her bankroll to $115,910 and she paid $12.60 to win after being dispatched at 5-1.
