Harrah's Hoosier Park: Rodeo Drive Deo delivers in USS Indianapolis Memorial

Rodeo Drive Deo got back to her winning ways in Friday night's $113,750 USS Indianapolis Memorial for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Harrah's Hoosier Park, prevailing for David Miller and Ron Burke in 1:51.

Starting from the outside post nine proved little difficulty for Rodeo Drive Deo, who finished a gaining fourth in her Breeders Crown final, as she showed enough speed to land in third. In front of her, 92-1 shot Wunderkindbluechip (Atlee Bender) led early before she was passed by Fansville (Dexter Dunn) beyond the 26 4/5 quarter. Fansville would go on to click off the half in 55 3/5, but Miller had Rodeo Drive Deo off the pylons and on the attack before that point.

After a brief battle, Rodeo Drive Deo went by Fansville and then quickly opened up a gap on the rest of the competition before she reached three-quarters in 1:22 2/5. Rodeo Drive Deo was shut down from there to the wire and won by 2 1/2 lengths over late-gaining Good As You (Marcus Miller) and Baret (Scott Zeron). Westwinds (Trace Tetrick) and Papi Grad (Peter Wrenn) checked in fourth and fifth.
