In the other flight 21-1 Cruisen Halle (Mike Oosting) showed speed from post seven and cleared 1-9 favorite and pole-sitter Somemore Blue (Marcus Miller) just after the 27 second opening quarter. Miller then moved his charge to the point prior to the 57 3/5 half, and she followed that up with a 29 1/5 panel to get to three-quarters in 1:26 4/5. Somemore Blue got separation on the other fillies early in the lane and coasted to the wire, defeating Rock The Charm (John De Long) by a length and a half in 1:52 4/5. Whoomp (Lewyane Miller) got third.
Somemore Blue, a Lavon Miller-bred, was sent out by Erv Miller for owners Douglas Overhiser, Kenneth Duffy, Lava Java Stable and Never 2 Late Stable. Somemore Blue is now five-for-five in her career, has pocketed $117,611 and returned $2.20 to win.
