Harrah's Hoosier Park: Reflect With Me smashes track record in Nadia Lobell win

Reflect With Me, coming off a win in the Mistletoe Shalee at the Meadowlands on Saturday, captured her second stakes event in less than a week, shipping out to Harrah's Hoosier Park and coming home with the lion's share of the purse in Friday's $100,000 Nadia Lobell for sophomore pacing fillies. The final time was 1:48 3/5, which obliterated the previous track record of 1:49 4/5 for the division.
Driven by Andrew McCarthy, Reflect With Me left from post four and grabbed a pocket seat right behind Priceless (Brandon Bates), who also shipped back to Indiana after finishing fourth in the Mistletoe Shalee. Priceless rang up an opening quarter in 26 2/5 and a half in 55 seconds, but action picked up after that as Reflect With Me's stablemate in the Tony Alagna barn, Lady Lou (Trace Tetrick), was out and rolling first-over.
Priceless was able to rebuff Lady Lou's advance around the final bend but had to go a 26 4/5 third quarter to do so, and after Lady Lou began to drop back, it set the stage for what amounted to a match race in the lane between Priceless and Reflect With Me. The two fillies were both game to the wire, but Reflect With Me had the better momentum and kick on the outside, and she would edge by late to defeat Priceless by half a length. Genie Rockwell (Marlin Fry), Lady Lou, and Ellagator (Lewayne Miller) rounded out the top five.
"I wasn't too sure how hard (Genie Rockwell and Ellagator) would push off. I definitely respect Priceless a lot and I wanted to stay close to her," remarked McCarthy. "I didn't really figure with a second-over trip I'd be able to catch her. I wanted to get close and hopefully get room in the stretch. Mid-stretch I got out, and she's very speedy this filly. She'll sit you right back in your seat when you ask her.
"She loves a trip and she's super-fast. I kind of messed up as a 2-year-old; I put her on the front too many times. I figured it out there towards the end of the year and she got the Breeders Crown done, so I guess we'll just keep doing it that way. She wants to win."
A daughter of Captaintreacherous, Reflect With Me is trained by Alagna for co-owner/breeder Brittany Farms LLC. and co-owner Brad Grant. This was her eighth career win, and she has now earned $625,122. She was the 1-5 favorite and paid $2.60 to win.
