Harrah's Hoosier Park: More stakes success for Cool Papa Bell, Fashion Schooner

Jim Campbell's Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks-winning duo of Cool Papa Bell and Fashion Schooner took the $90,000 Phil Langley Memorial and $115,000 Moni Maker, respectively, on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
Cool Papa Bell (Todd McCarthy) had to work past the 27 2/5 quarter to get the lead away from Ponda Adventure (Trace Tetrick) in the Phil Langley Memorial for the boys, but once he had command, he was able to back down the fractions to 57 1/5 at the half and 1:26 3/5 at three-quarters. The sprint was on from there, and Cool Papa Bell came home in 26 3/5 to hand Ponda Adventure his first defeat in 2022, bettering him by two lengths in 1:53 1/5. Delgado (Tim Tetrick) finished third.
A Chapter Seven gelding, Cool Papa Bell was bred by Belmar Racing And Breeding LLC. and is owned by Scott Farber's Runthetable Stables. Cool Papa Bell has nine wins, four seconds, and three thirds from 19 career starts, he has now earned $929,999, and he paid $3.20 to win as the 3-5 favorite.
In the Moni Maker, Fashion Schooner (Tim Tetrick) took the top spot away from stablemate Misswalner Fashion (Trace Tetrick) at the 27 1/5 opening quarter, and then was unchallenged through a 57 2/5 half and a 1:25 4/5 three-quarters. In the stretch Misswalner Fashion challenged Fashion Schooner on the inside, but Fashion Schooner fought her off to get the victory by three-quarters of a length in 1:52 3/5. M-M's Dream (Sam Widger), who came into the race eight-for-eighth in 2022, closed well but had to settle for third.
Campbell trains Fashion Schooner, a daughter of Walner, for owner/breeder Fashion Farms LLC. This was her eighth triumph from 14 career starts, and she has now pocketed $674,337. She returned $2.20 to win as the 1-9 favorite.

Two-year-old colt and gelding trotters also were in action in the $100,000 Madison County, and Talent Scout (Dexter Dunn) led at the 27 second opening quarter. However, from there he was shuffled back on the cones through middle-half fractions of 56 4/5 and 1:25 2/5 and continued to wait for room into the lane.
Meanwhile, Jailhouse Dance (Mike Oosting) had taken command on the final bend and opened up a big advantage on the field in the stretch, but his gap wasn't enough, as Dunn found the passing lane with Talent Scout, and he had a big enough kick to get around Jailhouse Dance and win by half a length in 1:54 1/5. Texsong Soprano (John De Long) came in third.
Talent Scout, a Swan For All gelding bred by Atlantic Trot Inc. and Steve Stewart, is trained by Doug Rideout for owners Julie Rideout, Alan White, and Dave Gamble. Talent Scout has six wins, two seconds, and a third from 14 attempts, has now earned $151,708, and paid $4.60 to win as the favorite.
