Harrah's Hoosier Park: Lindy The Great was just that in Caesars Trotting Classic

Lindy The Great brought a four-race win streak in overnight races and the preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park into tonight's $230,000 Caesars Trotting Classic for free-for-allers at Harrah's Hoosier Park, and he showed that form was not to be taken lightly as he romped to a 1:51 1/5 victory.
With Louis-Philippe Roy in town to drive, Lindy The Great left smartly from post five and was able to get to the front around Bridge To Jesse's (John De Long) right at the 26 1/5 opening quarter. Crystal Fashion (David Miller) was left on the rim when Lindy The Great crossed over, and Crystal Fashion would press on to get the lead before the 55 second half-mile marker.
Crystal Fashion would meet up with a first-over Marion Marauder (Scott Zeron) on the final turn, but Crystal Fashion was able to keep the lead at the 1:23 3/5 three-quarters. Those two continued battling into the stretch, but Roy had clear sailing at the inside and in the passing lane in the last eighth, and once he had room, Lindy The Great trotted around Crystal Fashion and Marion Marauder. From there, it was academic as Lindy The Great set sail and won the race by 3 3/4 lengths. Mission Accepted (Chris Page) rallied from eighth in the last quarter to finish second at 30-1, and favored Guardian Angel AS (Tim Tetrick), who worked out a second-over trip from the trailing post ten, came in third. Six Pack (Ake Svanstedt) advanced from last to fourth in the final quarter, and Hannelore Hanover (Yannick Gingras) finished fifth.
"Actually, today he was a little more relaxed. I didn't want to rush him too much out of the gate because the last two times in Toronto, I couldn't get him to relax as I wanted in the middle-half," relayed Roy. "Today was just perfect. I could do whatever I wanted with him. When I saw David was leaving on the outside of me, I was pretty happy with the trip that I was going to end up with."
Domenico Cecere trains Lindy The Great, a 5-year-old Crazed stallion, for co-owner/breeder K R Breeding LLC. and co-owner Robert Rudolph. Lindy The Great now has 14 career wins, and he has earned $571,775. He was sent off at 5-1 and paid $13.20 to win.
"I was very, very confident with him. He'd been racing great in Canada," said Cecere. "Let's take it a step at a time. We'll enjoy this night, and we'll see what's next."
