Three-year-old pacing fillies raced in two $49,000 Indiana Sires Stakes tests, and their colt and gelding counterparts competed in a pair of $15,000 Hoosier Cup eliminations on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park.

Goo Goo Won (Lewayne Miller) took over the lead past the 27 1/5 opening quarter in the first Indiana Sires Stakes flight, and after putting up middle-half fractions of 54 2/5 and 1:22 4/5, she sprinted home in 28 second to win by a length and a half in 1:50 4/5 over Ms Quick Sand (Brandon Bates), with Alloutblitz (Peter Wrenn) third.

A daughter of Fred And Ginger, Goo Goo Won is trained by Dylan Davis for owners H And M Taylor Stable and Judith Taylor. This was Goo Goo Won's third career win, and she has now earned $104,235. She paid $10.80 to win after being sent off at 4-1.

In the other Indiana Sires Stakes tilt, 3-5 favorite Trick Of The Light (Trace Tetrick) clicked off panels of 27 1/5, 55 2/5, and 1:23 2/5, but Always Gonna B You (John De Long) and Marvelous Marshia (Mike Oosting) tipped out in the lane from second and third, respectively, and it would be Marvelous Marshia getting up to score by a length in 1:50 1/5. Always Gonna B You wound up second, and Trick Of The Light had to settle for third.

Roger Welch trains Marvelous Marshia, a daughter of Always A Virgin, for owners William De Long, William P. De Long, Mia Delong, and Marsha Lewis-Veitia. Marvelous Marshia has a record of 5-5-2 from 15 lifetime starts, she has now pocketed $100,609, and returned $19.60 to win as an 8-1 offering.

The first Hoosier Cup elimination saw Soaring Now (Andy Shetler) post stations of 26 2/5, 56, and 1:25, but Ponda Warrior (Jimmy Whittemore), who went first-up from third going to three-quarters, took over the lead in the stretch. From there, Ponda Warrior had to hold off pocket-sitter JK Victory (Tetrick) and a second-over Sure Thing Herman (Sam Widger), which he was able to deal, bettering JK Victory by a nose in 1:50 4/5. Sure Thing Herman and Soaring Now completed the top four.

Ponda Warrior is co-owned by trainer Jay Hochstetler in partnership with Finkelberg Racing LLC. and South Of The Tracks Rac Inc. Ponda Warrior made his sixth appearance in the winner's circle, sent his bankroll to $160,825, and paid $7.40 to win as the 5-2 second choice.

First-over tactics also worked for Rip Wheeler (Bates) in the second Hoosier Cup elimination. Positioned fourth through a 27 second opening quarter and a 55 2/5 half, Rip Wheeler moved on the rim into second heading to the 1:23 3/5 three-quarters, then forged his way into the top spot in the lane. The Longest Yard (Oosting) tracked Rip Wheeler from second-over and had every chance to get by him on the outside in the stretch, but was unable to do so, with Rip Wheeler tallying by a head in 1:50 1/5. Lucks On Time (De Long) checked in third.

The victorious Rockin Image gelding is trained by Walter Haynes Jr. for owners Jeff Fought Racing and David Fought. He is now a four-time victor from 11 trips behind the gate, has now stashed away $54,180, and returned $6.80 to win as the 2-1 second choice.
