Harrah's Hoosier Park: Favored fillies cruise in Indiana Sires Stakes

Odds-on favorites Always Gonna B You and Trick Of The Light didn't disappoint in the two Indiana Sires Stakes races for 3-year-old pacing fillies that occurred on Thursday night, with both posting impressive victories.
Driven by John De Long in the opening $49,500 grouping, Always Gonna B You sat in the pocket behind Jewel'sbewithus (Ricky Macomber Jr.) through fractions of 27 4/5, 57 3/5, and 1:25 2/5. Always Gonna B You continued in the two-hole into the stretch, but rallied through the passing lane to take the lead, then pulled away to prevail by a pair of lengths in 1:51 3/5. Marvelous Marshia (Mike Oosting) got up for second over Jewel'sbewithus.
Jeff Cullipher trains Always Gonna B You, a daughter of Always A Virgin, for owners Roll The Dice Stable and Val D'Or Farms. This was her sixth career win, she has now pocketed $199,020, and she paid $3.20 to win as the 3-5 choice.
Trick Of The Light (Trace Tetrick) was third at the 26 4/5 opening quarter in the other $49,000 division, but Tetrick guided her to the outside in the backstretch and overtook Hugs And Kisses (Sam Widger) for the top spot nearing the 54 3/5 half. Trick Of The Light would go on to reach three-quarters in 1:23 1/5, then sprinted home in 26 4/5 to widen and win by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:50. Alloutblitz (Peter Wrenn) was the runner-up, followed by Gonna Be Good (Lewayne Miller).
