Harrah's Hoosier Park: For Dayze, Bluebird Kazoom rule in Indiana Sire Stakes

For Dayze 7-15-26
Dean Gillette Photography For Dayze took the first of two Indiana Sire Stakes races on Wednesday at Harrah's Hoosier Park

Taking care of business in the two $48,500 divisions of the fourth leg of Indiana Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotting fillies, For Dayze and Bluebird Kazoom coasted to the winner's circle as heavy favorites in their respective splits at Harrah's Hoosier Park on Wednesday (July 15).

Kicking off the INSS, For Dayze, driven by John De Long for trainer Roger Welch, calmy powered down the stretch to victory. Away from post five, the post time favorite For Dayze eased herself out of the gate looking to find her spot despite the rest of the field gunning for the lead. Honeymoon (Trace Tetrick) cruised out the gate the quickest moving along the rail, meeting the first quarter in 27 2/5. As the field remained unchanged with Honeymoon hitting the halfway mark in 57 2/5, Dial Nine One One (Marcus Miller), Homesweethome (Jordan Ross), and For Daye posed the biggest threat to round off the top four.

Providing action ahead of the turn, Homesweethome bounced to the outside with For Dayze opting to do the same by following that cover. Racing side-by-side at three-quarters in 1:26 1/5, Honeymoon's lead was hanging on by a thread with Homesweethome bearing down. Down the stretch, Homesweethome's rally fell short, opening the way for For Dayze to glide along the outside without breaking a sweat to take over the lead from Honeymoon to the wire in 1:53 3/5, winning by 1 1/2 lengths. Omg Am I Ok charged late for second, while Honeymoon held on for third.

For Dayze is owned by William De Long and Patrick De Long. The daughter of Swan For All-Southwind Storm was bred by Ernie Lambright. For Dayze increased her lifetime earnings to $339,960 following her third win of the year.

Leading the way the entire race, Bluebird Kazoom, driven by Jordan Ross for trainer Henry Graber Jr., wired the field in race 11's INSS contest.

The post time favorite Bluebird Kazoom wasted no time out of the gate to beat out Help Cum Laude (Marcus Miller) to the first quarter in 28 1/5. Controlling the field from the driver's seat, Bluebird Kazoom led an unchanged field to the half-mile pole in 57 2/5. Make It Spicy (Trace Tetrick) was the first trotter to move out of line, motoring up the outside and challenging the top pair from fifth. Bluebird Kazoom reached three-quarters in 1:26 1/5 with Make It Spicy now bringing the heat from second. Finding racing room between the trotters, Help Cum Laude reclaimed her spot from Make It Spicy, hoping to make a bid at the leader. Bluebird Kazoom would never open that door, soaring to the wire in a new lifetime-best in 1:53 2/5 while three lengths clear. Help Cum Laude held onto second, while Make It Spicy settled for third.

The victorious Swan For All filly is owned by Hillside Stables, Indiana Stables LLC., Hickory Hollow Stables, and Michael Rosenthal. Bluebird Kazoom was bred by Delvin Miller, Kenneth Bontrager and Daryl Miller. Bluebird Kazoom flew her lifetime earnings up to $110,475 for her eighth win of the season.

Three-year-old INSS action returns tomorrow (July 16) night to Harrah's Hoosier Park with a $95,500 trot for colts and geldings as Dan D Man Can looks to remain perfect to start 2026. Thursday's 14-race card features a $9,405 carryover in the early Hoosier High 5, the $10,000 guaranteed late Pick 4 and the $10,000 guaranteed late Hoosier High 5 done in partnership with the USTA's Strategic Wagering program.
