Harrah's Hoosier Park: Climatic Hanover trots track record mile in Kentuckiana Stallion Management

Climatic Hanover, a $725,000 yearling buy who is a half-sister to $1,719,521 earner Maryland, showed she could be a force to be reckoned with the rest of the year thanks to a track record 1:52 2/5 win in the Grade 2 $285,000 Kentuckiana Stallion Management for 2-year-old filly trotters on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
The Lucas Wallin-trained daughter of Walner was coming off a break at Hoosier in the Jim Doherty Memorial and was sent off at 28-1 from post three with Yannick Gingras in the bike. After getting away cleanly, Climatic Hanover landed in the three-hole and watched as Redice (Atlee Bender) cut fractions of 27 1/5, 56 and 1:24 2/5 with City Of Light (Scott Zeron) in the pocket and 1-5 favorite Blue Ranger (Dexer Dunn) in fourth until she vacated the pylons on the final bend.
With City Of Light and Blue Ranger on the outside and Redice drifting out in the lane, Climatic Hanover had a seam to rally through on the inside, and she went right by Redice and City Of Light before she pulled away to score by 2 3/4 lengths. City Of Light was second, followed by Blue Ranger, Finish Big (Robert Taylor) and Rbssouthwindcentra (David Miller).

"I've raced against her a couple of times. I was in the race last week against her when she made a break," remarked Gingras. "Lucas sent me a message this afternoon, told me he really likes her and that he thought she was every bit as good as the other fillies in here. He told me a couple of things about her and it was obviously really helpful. The trip worked out but the filly definitely delivered.
"Once the rail opened up, she shot right through there. She was trotting so strong that I knew I was a winner. I was keeping her mind on business; they are 2-year-olds, but she trotted right through the wire. It was pretty impressive."
Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Climatic Hanover is owned by K Andersen Racing Stable. She has a summary of 2-2-0 from five efforts, has put away $153,333 and paid $59 to win.
