Harrah's Hoosier Park: Century Farroh scores in Jenna's Beach Boy

Century Farroh has been a terror in Canada all year, winning both Ontario Sires Stakes and Grand Circuit events north of the border, and tonight he bagged his first major prize in the United States as he was a 1:49 1/5 victor in the $170,000 Jenna's Beach Boy for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
Starting from a trailing post ten, Century Farroh and driver Sylvain Filion were positioned fifth at the 25 4/5 opening quarter that was blazed by fellow Ontario-sired horse Bronx Seelster (Yannick Gingras), but Filion had his horse out and on the move in the second quarter, and he would wrestle control away from Bronx Seelster just past the 54 3/5 half.
Rockie Got Framed (Ricky Macomber Jr.), who had been two-wide at every call, moved up first-over to put some heat on Century Farroh to the 1:22 1/5 three-quarters and into the stretch, but Century Farroh refused to yield, maintaining an advantage to the wire and winning by a length. Crimson And Chrome (Tim Tetrick) rallied for second, and Rockie Got Framed was a good third after the wide trip. Fourth went to Workin Ona Mystery (David Miller), and he was followed by Little Rocket Man (Trace Tetrick)
"He's been a very lightly-staked colt. He was only paid up to the Ontario Sires program, the North America Cup, and the Simcoe," said Dr. Ian Moore, who trains Century Farroh for owner Ratchford Stable NS. "I've been talking to Dave (Ratchford) for a while about supplements, and I'd say it looks good to for supplementing to the Breeders Crown and perhaps even the Monument Circle here coming up in October.
"He's got a lot of determination and a lot of desire, this horse. Even the last trip at home, they were getting to him, and then in the last eighth, last sixteenth, he just left them. He doesn't want anybody to beat him."
A Mach Three colt, Century Farroh now has 16 career wins, and he has earned $604,219. The 6-5 favorite, Century Farroh paid $4.60 to win.
