Harrah's Hoosier: Fulfullnmydestiny becomes fastest freshman in track history

After re-establishing the track record for 2-year-old pacing geldings in his last start, Fulfullnmydestiny was back in action at Harrah's Hoosier Park on Friday, September 10 to reset the record books yet again. With trainer/driver James Yoder in the bike, Fufillnmydestiny turned in a 1:49 2/5 effort to capture his $47,500 division of Indiana Sires Stakes and record the first sub 1:50 mile by a 2-year-old in Harrah's Hoosier Park history.

Leaving from post five, Fufillnmydestiny left alertly but didn't reach the lead until just before the half. Trey's Charlie and Brandon Bates followed from the pocket, while the rest of the field followed along intently in single file order.

When Fufillnmydestiny hit the three-quarters in 1:22 4/5, he was on top by three lengths, and the rest of the field was struggling to stay within striking distance. Using a 26 3/5 final quarter, Fufillnmydestiny sprinted to the wire under a hand drive from Yoder and finished 6 1/2 lengths in front of Big Law and Sam Widger. Trey's Charlie held on for third. As the overwhelming favorite, Fufillnmydestiny returned $2.80 at the betting windows.

Fulfullnmydestiny is a homebred son of Tellitlikeitis-Driven By Destiny. Owned by Brett Boyd Racing, it was the third win in six seasonal starts for Fulfillnmydestiny, who has now banked $97,690 on the season for his connections.

Fulfullnmydestiny was one of three Indiana Sires Stakes divisional winners on the evening. Driver John DeLong and Thunder Country pulled the biggest upset of the evening in the opening split of the stakes action after they stormed home a winner at odds of 48-1. Sent off as the longest shot on the board, Thunder Country was uninvolved through the early stages of the race before employing a 26 1/5 closing kick to get the win in 1:51 1/5.

Trained by Michelle Finn, Thunder Country recorded his second win from 11 seasonal starts and lowered his lifetime mark with the victory. Owned by Ervin Wickey, the gelded son of Rockin Inage-Happy Feet Too has now banked $44,600.

Topville Somrocket and driver Brandon Bates were able to spring an upset of their own in the second flight of the stakes action. Scoring at odds of 15-1, Topville Somrocket utilized a ground-saving trip before pacing home with authority to get the victory in 1:51 2/5 over Yourwishisgranted and Jay Cross. Incredible Badge and John DeLong rounded out the trifecta. Topville Somrocket returned $32.60 to his backers at the betting windows.

Trained by Jay Hochstetler, Topville Somrocket recorded his second win from ten seasonal starts. The gelded son of Rockin Image-Somewhere Fameous is owned in partnership by C. Hochstetler, J. Schoo, L. Mercuro and South of the Tracks Racing.
