Harrah's Hoosier: Favorites downed in Indiana Sires Stakes

The featured races on Friday night at Harrah's Hoosier Park were two divisions of the third leg of Indiana Sires Stakes action for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings, and they would be won by PBR Street Gang and Brookview Bullet.
The first group went after a purse of $42,000, and Skyway Victor (Brandon Bates) shot out from post four to lead the field of ten to a 28 second opening quarter. As the pacers raced in the backstretch, PBR Street Gang (Trace Tetrick) pulled to the outside from third, and he would move up and around Skyway Victor beyond the 56 3/5 half-mile point. From there, PBR Street Gang maintained control to the 1:24 1/5 three-quarters, and a 28 1/5 final panel sealed his two length victory in a final time of 1:52 2/5. Flirtin Freddy (Mike Oosting) got up for second, with TJ's Indy Pacer (Sam Widger) back in third.
Brian Brown trains PBR Street Gang, a colt from the first crop of JK Endofanera, for owners Country Club Acres Inc., Joe Sbrocco, Milt Leeman, and L & H Management Services. PBR Street Gang, who is out of the Village Jolt mare Love You Always and was bred by Daryl Miller, has a record of 2-1-0 from five tries, and he pushed his bankroll to $40,225. He was a 3-1 shot and paid $8.80 to win.
In the other $42,500 split, 1-2 favorite Virgo (Tetrick) had to work hard to get around Goldie's Legacy (Widger) for the top spot beyond the 26 2/5 opening quarter. After taking over, Virgo came under immediate attack from Rogers Image (Luke Plano), and Plano was able to urge him to the engine in the backstretch before being met by a first-over What's Your Beef (Lewayne Miller) at the half, which went on the board in a wicked 53 4/5.
What's Your Beef forged his way by Rogers Image early on the far turn, and Virgo had to come first-over to try and chase him down after being shuffled back. Virgo's cover was tracked loosely by Brookview Bullet (Joey Putnam), who tipped to the outside from seventh before the half and was moving up steadily towards the 1:22 3/5 three-quarters. In the lane What's Your Beef was able to resist Virgo's bid, but Brookview Bullet rallied three-wide, and What's Your Beef couldn't hold him off as Brookview Bullet got up to win by a length and three-quarters in 1:51 2/5. What's Your Beef was a good second, with He's Gonna Getya (Bates) third.
A gelding by Always A Virgin, Brookview Bullet is trained by Justin White for owner Eleven Star Stables. Brookview Bullet, who was bred by Brookview Farms and is out of the Cambest mare Babylon Sister (a half-sister to $1,389,556 earner Shacked Up), is a perfect three-for-three in his career and has earned $35,338. He was dispatched at 5-1 and returned $12.80 to win.
