Harrah's Hoosier: $225,000 Dan Patch Graded Analysis

On Friday (8/14) Harrah's Hoosier Park plays host to the $225,000 Dan Patch for older pacers. A strong field of 10 has been lined up with many from last week's Sam McKee Memorial at The Meadowlands making the trip. Below is my graded analysis for the race followed by suggested tickets for the $25,000 Guaranteed Superfecta backed by the track and the USTA's Strategic Wagering Program.
(5) WORKIN ONA MYSTERY raced well in the Graduate final back on July 11 to be second in a 1:47 mile. He then took a planned four-week vacation, so I'm not holding the loss to a very talented Bllack Hole on August 8 against him. Brian Brown trainee should be a fresh and ready for a peak effort while most of his main competitors are coming off a trio of races where they’ve gone around 1:20 to three quarters. That has to take a toll eventually.
(2) CENTURY FARROH finished well in the slowest quarter of the Sam McKee last Saturday. Normally that wouldn't impress me much, but what else was he going to do from post 10? Four-year-old has raced well in every start this year and you'll get a fair price as people pour in the dough on #3.
(3) BETTOR’S WISH has responded nicely to the addition of Lasix. His performance in the Sam McKee was extraordinary, but I have to wonder if he'll bounce a bit at short odds while shipping halfway across the country just six days later.
(6) BACKSTREET SHADOW is a player in just about every race due to a solid one-two combination of early speed and form. He also wheels back in just six days after reaching the half in 52 1/5 last time. He's obviously a player with any decent trip.
(7) DORSODURO HANOVER hasn't raised his game in his 5-year-old season but remains capable of getting a minor award with the right setup.
(4) THIS IS THE PLAN gets his nose back on the gate this week and could show serious early speed while lasting for a low exotics spot.
(10) OUR MAJORDAN A was disappointing in the McKee consolation and now is stuck in the second tier. That's not a great spot for a horse with gate issues.
(1) SHNITZLEDOSOMETHIN has won two of his last three but takes a big step up in class. Best case has him sitting close and getting into the trifecta.
(9) FILIBUSTER HANOVER & (8) DE LOS CIELOS DEO will need plenty of luck to get involved from outside posts.
